PM Announces Construction Of Nkwen Referral Hospital

Prime Minister Philemon Yang has announced the imminent construction of a referral hospital in Nkwen that will serve as a teaching hospital to the University of Bamenda, UBa. Yang was addressing CPDM militants at the Commercial Avenue grandstand on Saturday, February 27, who had come from all the Divisions to Bamenda to join the chorus of calling President Biya to stand as presidential candidate in 2018.

The Prime Minister, who doubles as the Coordinator of the CPDM in the Northwest, said Biya has achieved many projects, and is determined to do more. He cited the University of Bamenda with all its faculties, secondary and primary schools and the special package of FCFA 120 billion set aside for the youths. According to Yang, the Ring Road, which Biya promised, has not been abandoned because it has been factored in the three-year emergency plan. “Some of the portions of the Ring Road will be taken care of. There are ongoing negotiations between the World Bank and the Government for us to start work on that road. That is why we have come here to appeal to President Biya to be our candidate so that we continue to achieve more peace, more development. With Paul Biya, our future will be greater than our past,” Yang said.

He said, despite the hardships, the people of the Region are striving on. “Your patience is a sign of your maturity,” said Yang. Earlier, the Section President for Mezam I A, Cletus Anye Matoya, read a catalogue of President Biya’s achievements and appealed to him to launch his presidential campaign in Bamenda because Bamenda is the birthplace of the CPDM.
