The 25-year-old rapper was certainly in her element as she performed at a music festival in California. She put on an energetic performance in a scanty outfit which showed off her curves.

Cousins North and Penelope showed off their moves as they danced Salsa together while in Cuba. North had her hair high in a top bun and wore a purple wrap outfit while Penelope wore a pink top and skirt. With their hired tutor guiding them on, the cousins held hands while giggling and danced to music on the dance floor. Kourtney, Kim & Kanye and Khloe Kardashian later joined in on the fun. Before joining Mavins, Bello was nominated as the Next Rated Music Artist for Peak Awards and Behind Awards in 2011. He is Glo, Face of Woodin Nigeria.

He is the younger brother of Mavin records CEO, Don Jazzy. He shot to limelight with his hit track Omoba in 2009 under Mo Hits. He released his debut album titled Frenzy in November 5, 2012. He was once MTN ambassador.

In four years as a label, Mavin Records has recorded more successes than any other label within a short while.

1. All Mavin Record artists are brand ambassadors of A-list companies with some of them having multi endorsement deals.

2.All the artists on this label have at least an album to self which is not applicable in other record labels.

3. Most of Mavin artists are award winners.

Despite their successes, many still felt that the Don Jazzy led label might have forgotten his magic wands while producing songs like Janta Manta, Oga Titus and Mungo Park.

Video of man seen reading a book at a Beyonce concert goes viral

Beyoncé had a sold out concert at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina and this couple above sat down to watch the show. The only thing is that the woman's husband didn't seem interested in Beyoncé's performance, instead, he pulled out a book and began to read it. After the video went viral, ABC news tracked the man down to ask why he was reading instead of enjoying the concert.
The man, 66 year old George Papageorgiou's said he was working concessions at the venue for his church and he and his wife only pulled up seats when they were done.
He said:
"After a while, we watch the show. It was OK, and then we just sat down. I pulled up my book and start reading," he recalled. He said he had read the book 6 or 7 times before but preffered to read it than watch Beyoncé because that wasn't his type of music.

"I find Beyonce a great show woman, very attractive. Her music? Eh, fine, but not my style, the Greece native said. "I listen to '50s, '60s, '70s, and a lot of Greek music. He added: "I get this message on my iPhone saying 'It's hilarious, you're in the news for reading a book at the Beyonce concert.' It didn't sink in till I started getting phone calls or my wife and stuff saying the news is calling they want to interview you and I'm like 'What about?'" said Papageorgiou.

50 Cent donates $100k to Autism group after mocking Autistic man

After the backlash he received from people and the apology he sent to the 19 year old Autism man, Andrew Farrell, who he mocked on Instagram, 50 Cent has donated $100,000 to Autism Speaks.
According to TMZ 50 Cent referred to the video he posted of Farrell, saying..

"I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding. There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support."

"I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can."

Farrell's family had asked 50 Cent to publicly apologize to their son and donate $10k to the autism advocacy group, after they saw the humiliating video of their son which 50 Cent posted online, mocking his face and calling him a drug user.

50 apologized to Farrell privately and publicly through Page Six and has now donated to the group.

Kanye West is crowned artist of the year for 2016 Webby Awards

The Webby Awards crowned Kanye West as the Artist of the Year for 2016 all thanks to his digital achievements and worldwide recognition.  The Webby awards gave him the award because it recognized the record-breaking release of his album The Life of Pablo through streaming media.After being streamed 250 million times via Tidal in its first 10 days, TLOP later became the first Number One album to top the Billboard 200 off of mostly streaming-equivalent albums.

He was cited as an influential and powerful figure in the music industry due to his individual and changing methods of how music is released and shared.

Diddy announces he's retiring from music, 50 Cents shades him, lol

Diddy, over the weekend announced that he'll be retiring from music to face acting, 50 Cent who enjoys to taunt him shaded him by posting the above comment.

Diddy covered the June of issue of Cigar Aficionado Magazine where he told them:
I’m going to put out my last album and devote 100 percent of my time to doing films … I want to stop at a great place.”
His forthcoming and final album, No Way Out 2, will be the final chapter of his legacy in the music industry.
He added:
“When I’m gone, only the songs will survive. I know I’m making music that will live on. I don’t go into the studio just to be hot or to hear myself on the radio."
“Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie – part of them lives on in their music, even though they’re not here anymore. That’s really deep, man. The only thing like that is religion.”. Diddy told the magazine.

Beyonce earns sixth No. 1 album on Billboard 200 chart with 'Lemonade'

Beyonce’s Lemonade album is at at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving her a sixth no. 1 album on the Billboard. The set earned 653,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 28, according to Nielsen Music. Pure album sales comprised 485,000 of that sum.

Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

According to their website, the new May 14-dated chart (where Lemonade is No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s websites on Tuesday, May 3.

Paul Biya pays glowing tribute to Papa Wemba

         

President Paul Biya of Cameroon Thursday paid a glowing tribute to the late Congolese musician, Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba, better known as Papa Wemba, describing the late musician as “one of the greatest ambassadors of African music.

”In a condolence message to his DR Congolese counterpart, Joseph Kabila, President Biya expressed his profound grief upon hearing news of Wemba’s sudden death after collapsing in the middle of a concert in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.

A talented, world renowned artiste Papa Wemba, was in Cote d’Ivoire to take part in the Festival of Urban Music Anoumabo (FEMUA).

Addressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the music maestro and to the distraught Congolese people, the Cameroonian leader rued the departure of the musician as a huge loss to African culture especially that of DR Congo.

I never like it when entertainers go all political.

The cynic in me believes it’s rarely done for genuine reasons but for strictly commercial ones.

Whether it’s Oscar-winners preaching from the Academy Awards pulpit or Madonna seizing the best-looking babies from African orphanages, it always looks and sounds like they’re using a ‘good cause’ as a fashion accessory.

Which brings me to Beyoncé and her new ‘visual-album’, Lemonade.

Now, I bow to no man nor woman when it comes to my admiration for this lady.

I once spent a delightful day with her in London for CNN and she was bright, warm, funny, sharp and incredibly impressive.

We chatted, had tea and scones, and finally went to the famous department store Harrods to buy a copy of her new album.

There, word quickly spread and several thousand people raced down to to form a frenzied throng desperate to get close to their idol.

Things grew steadily more intense, physical and scary until eventually I witnessed her chief bodyguard – a giant of a man – actually punch a paparazzi straight on the head, knocking him to the floor.

That was real superstar fame, on a scale few well-known people will ever experience.

Beyoncé’s over-excited audience that day pretty much typified what I suspect her normal audience looks like: black, white, asian, hispanic, young, old, male, female, Jewish, Muslim, Christian.

In other words, a multi-cultural, age, gender and religion irrelevant demographic.

She’s a global brand, one of the best in the business, and has generally steered studiously clear of saying or doing anything too contentious which might polarise that audience – preferring to entertain for the sake of entertaining.

But just lately, Beyonce’s been adding a far more serious, deeply political and race-fuelled tone to her work.

 

In February of this year, she dropped the song “Formation” which contained references to the activist movement Black Lives Matter.

A video accompanying it included Beyoncé strewn across a sinking police car in a withering throwback to police mistreatment of the black community in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Other scenes showed a wall bearing the graffiti “Stop Shooting Us” and a young black boy dancing in a hoodie in front of a line of policemen.

It was seen, understandably, as an attack on U.S. police.

The next day, Beyoncé sang Formation during the half-time Superbowl show and stepped up the police-hating theme with a tribute to the militant activist group, Black Panthers.

Her back-up dancers had Panthers-style afro hairstyles and black berets, formed an X on the pitch and punched the air in the style of the famous black power salute.

Beyoncé herself wore black leather and a bandolier of bullets.

To say this was a provocative statement is putting it mildly.

The Black Panthers, set up as a group who would protect black Americans from police brutality, became infamous for their own brutality, especially against police, and widespread criminal and murderous membership within their ranks.

Beyonce’s tribute to them was branded ‘disgraceful and outrageous’ by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, incensed that she had ‘used the platform of the Superbowl to attack the police.’

Now, just two months later, she has released her full album Lemonade.

 

Many of the instant headlines attached to it focus on her apparent calling out of husband Jay-Z as a love cheat.

But I was far more drawn to the politically-charged content in much of the rest of it.

There’s a clip of Malcolm X, the radical and controversial black separatist who opposed Dr Martin Luther King’s creed of non-violence, saying: ‘The most disrespected person in America is the black woman.’

Another shows two grieving mothers appearing on camera.

The first is Lesley McSpadden, filmed crying as she holds a photo of her late son Mike Brown who was shot dead by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014 – an incident which sparked huge protests.

The second is Sybrina Fulton, whose 17-year-old son Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida by a local vigilante George Zimmerman in a case that sparked national outrage in 2012.

I have huge personal sympathy for both women and there is no doubt that African-Americans have been treated appallingly by certain rogue elements within the country’s police forces.

But I felt very uneasy watching these women being used in this way to sell an album. It smacks of shameless exploitation.

My mind went back to my CNN interview with Beyoncé and the moment when we discussed her live performance at President Barack Obama’s first inauguration ball in 2008.

‘Did you experience racism as you grew up?’ I asked.

A bit, but I feel like with my career I’ve now broken barriers. I don’t think people think about my race. I think they look at me as an entertainer and a musician and I’m very happy about that because that’s how I look at people. It’s not about color and race, and I’m happy that’s changing.’

‘At the time of the inauguration,’ I said, ‘the most powerful man in the world was African-American, Oprah was the biggest TV star, you were the biggest singing star and Tiger Woods was No1 golfer. That would have been unthinkable 30 years ago.’

‘Exactly,’ she replied. 

‘The sea change came through personal achievement as much as anything else.’

‘Absolutely. I’m proud of that and I’m just praying that we continue to grow and people continue to see the right things in people.’

That interview took place five years ago.

Beyoncé then was unrecognisable from the militant activist we see now. Then, she was at pains to be seen as an entertainer and musician and not as a black woman who sings.

Now, it seems to be the complete opposite.

The new Beyoncé wants to be seen as a black woman political activist first and foremost, entertainer and musician second.

I still think she’s a wonderful singer and performer, and some of the music on Lemonade is fantastic.

But I have to be honest, I preferred the old Beyoncé.

The less inflammatory, agitating one.

The one who didn’t use grieving mothers to shift records and further fill her already massively enriched purse.

The one who didn’t play the race card so deliberately and to my mind, unnecessarily.

The one who wanted to be judged on her stupendous talent not her skin color, and wanted us all to do the same. 

 

 

 

Cameroonian singer Andy Allo pays tribute to Prince

As the world continues to mourn the death of Prince, Cameroonian singer, Andy Allo paid her respects with a statement on Facebook.

Hi Prince, 

I believe we all come into people's lives for a reason. You came into mine 5 years ago and each day we spent together talking, traveling and playing music, the more I learned about myself. You taught me how to love so deeply with no inhibitions, but you also taught me about heartbreak. You taught me how to push myself beyond my own limits, how to be strong, how to fight but also how to be vulnerable and be present. You are a mentor, a friend and much much more. We shared a great love, a great many laughs and tears. I wish I had told you more, what you meant to me.
I am so grateful I had the honor of knowing you, the man and the artist. 

I am the woman and the artist I am today because of you. I love you and miss you.
