Two firefighters suspended after saving the life of an 18-Month-old girl
Two volunteer firefighters in Stafford County, Virginia, were suspended after they saved an 18-month-old girl who was having a seizure last Saturday because they used their fire engine to transport her to a hospital instead of waiting for an Ambulance.
Captain James Kelley and Sgt. Virgil Bloom from the Falmouth Volunteer Fire Department in Fredericksburg were the first responders to a call that came from the toddler's father saying that his daughter was having a seizure according to WTTG-TV.
Capt. Kelley said it would have taken at least 10 to 15 minutes before the nearest medic could arrive and provide assistance to the toddler, so they decided to take care of her themselves. They had oxygen in the fire truck so they put her on it and provided assistance to her which ultimately saved her life. Although an ambulance requested to meet the firefighters near the hospital to finish the journey, Kelley ultimately denied the request because he said time would be wasted waiting for them.
Brian Nunamaker, the girl’s father credited the firefighters’ quick thinking and actions with saving his daughter’s life. He said:

“As a parent, you feel extremely helpless to be unable to assist the most important person in the world [your child] during such a time of emergency,” Nunamaker said, according to WTTG. “Worst case scenarios run through your head while you are hoping for the best. The eternity of waiting for help to arrive was surprisingly non-existent in this situation. I was surprised at how quickly help had arrived in the form of a fire truck.”
“My wife and I feel terrible for the fallout that has happened to these two gentlemen”. “They simply had the best interests for our daughter’s care in mind. We are extremely thankful they made the decisions they did, and that our daughter is back home with us doing well. The actions of these men represent a dedication to their mission, and a deep concern of doing what is best for the people they are serving. In our eyes, they are heroes.”However, Kelley and Bloom were suspended after the incident because they used the firetruck which is licensed as a non-transport unit.
Kelly said:
“I would not hesitate, I would do the exact same thing 100 percent 10 times out of 10,”. “I sleep well at night knowing I provided good care to that young lady.”

Cameroon at the 151st spot of most globalised country
(Business in Cameroon) – The École Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich (EPFZ) publicly revealed, on 4 March 2016, its 2016 ranking of the most globalised countries in the world, which reflects the level of economic, social and political globalisation in 192 countries throughout the world. Cameroon takes the 151st spot in the world, and 38th in Africa.
In the CEMAC area, Cameroon is preceded by Gabon (112nd worldwide and 14th in Africa) and the Republic of Congo (134th worldwide and 25th in Africa). The three other CEMAC countries being Chad (170th worldwide and 44th in Africa), the Central African Republic (47th in Africa and 175th worldwide) and Equatorial Guinea (52nd in Africa and 190th worldwide) are among the last 10 of this ranking dominated in Africa by Morocco, Mauritius and South Africa; and by the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium at the world level.
According to the authors, the economic aspect of the globalisation in this ranking takes into account criteria such as the importance of trade, investments and cross-border income against the gross domestic product (GDP), as well as the impact of trade barriers and restrictions on flow of capitals.
The social dimension of globalization, we learned, is here measured based on personal cross-border contacts in the form of telephone calls and post mail; tourist flows and the importance of resident foreign population; the flows of cross-border information from internet, television and foreign press; as well as exports and imports of books against the GDP.
The political dimension of globalisation is measured by the number of foreign embassies in a country, the number of international organisations to which the country belongs, the number of UN peace missions to which the country contributed and the number of bilateral and multilateral agreements signed by the country since 1945.

The popular comedian had shared a picture of his wife on Facebook, to honour her on mother’s day, and the comments started rolling in.
Here’s what Basketmouth posted:
One Facebook user, Umoh Williams Maxwell, took the comments to another level with his ‘explanation’ of the comedian’s wife’s looks.
Here’s what he said below:
“In this picture there are two things involved either it is natural beauty or packaging. If it is natural beauty you are safe, if it is packaging there are two things involved either she is going under the knife or she is working out. If she is going under the knife hmmm, if she is working out there are two things involved either she is working out with a man or a woman, if she is working out with a woman, you are safe but if she is working out with a man there are two things involved either she is working out for fitness or she is working out for both fitness and sweetness. If she is working out for fitness, you are safe but if she is working out for sweetness my guy there’s only one thing involved #no be for my mouth you go hear say bicycle climb trailer and kill all passengers.”

New Music: Peter Jericho is all about the melanin in "Black Excellence" (video)
The EP WestSideStory was released to the public November 27th 2015, (Black Friday) on AudioMack and Soundcloud. The project is from my Vantage point, portraying the experiences of an individual living in the inner city of Chicago, Specifically the West Side.
Teaming up with producers from the Chicago Area, I-Will and Bruus, and Deli the Washington Native, we told a melodic story about the Hardships, Love, hate, bad and GREAT times one might face having walked the streets of these tough neighborhoods. It speaks heavily on how to keep hope alive, stay out of trouble, celebrate your situation, maintain a positive mind, and fight the system which is set up against us.

It speaks heavily on how to keep hope alive, stay out of trouble, celebrate your situation, maintain a positive mind, and fight the system which is set up against us.
Black Excellence is a single from the Westside story EP that delivers the general message to sum up the project. Inspite of all we have gone through, due to our misfortunes, there is still opportunity to be great; to be Excellent. Many Examples have been set forth for us to follow by those who have walked in our shoes. If we pursue their lead, we give ourselves the opportunity making a way, a future for ourselves and our families.
This is what i hoped the Black Excellence Video, released March 3rd 2016, portrayed. We come from a very rich lineage and it is ok to carry yourself as such. We are worthy. Its an important message for the youth.
"With everything up against us, some how we prevail, i hope and pray God Blesses, Black Excellence"
Lets fight adversity together and continue to grow into our Excellence.

ENERGY OF CAMEROON (ENEO) IN TROUBLE
Peter William Mandio, CPDM Member of Parliament for Mbam and Inoubou, has urged President Biya to renationalize the production and distribution of electricity in the country.
In a letter to the Managing Director of the current electricity provider, ENEO otherwise known as Energy of Cameroon, the Member of Parliament accuses the company of incompetence. He states that the recurrent power cuts have pushed him into suspecting that the company is linked to underground forces trying to oblige Cameroonians to take to the streets.
Mandio, points out in the letter dated March 6 that he was prompted to write to the company’s boss, after he and the city dwellers in the country’s economic capital spent 72 hours without electricity. It was also noted in the letter that the company did not provide any justification for the blackout.
“Depriving Cameroonians from electricity in a recurrent manner exposes them to unhealthy living, insecurity…Cameroonians have lost their human dignity and pride to electricity cuts. Most definitely, the social and economic losses incurred are countless” the letter read in part.
He also, reechoed the cries of Cameroonians who complain that they often lack electricity in their localities due to broken transformers or fallen electricity poles, but still witness rising electric bills.
Pointing out that it is because of these shortcomings on the part of the company that he is urging the head of state to terminate the company’s contract and nationalize electricity in the country.
The Member of Parliament promised ENEO’s managing director that the issue will be brought up during the March session of parliament which comes up on March 10.
The management of the electricity corporation is yet to make a statement on the issue.
Gov’t Bans Kamto’s Party From Holding Political Rallies in Douala
The Divisional Officer, DO of Douala V has banned the Cameroon Renaissance Movement political party of Maurice Kamto from holding political rallies in his jurisdiction.
Jean Marie Tchakui Noundie issued the ban following a declaration by the party’s official, of intentions to hold rallies during which petitions for the “consensual modification” of the electoral code were to be written.
The DO, in the ban note addressed to Daniel Nouboussi, Communal Federation Secretary of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement for Douala five, prohibited the party from organizing planned rallies in the Parcour Vita, Rhone Poulene and Antenne neighbourhoods in Douala this month.
The civil administrator, in the same letter orders the commissioners of 12th and 10th public security police districts to ensure that the ban is respected.
Political Mounde, a political analyst has condemned the ban, saying that “they authorize grand rallies in Douala, Ebolowa and Bafoussam as well as youth marches and belly dance parades when they are calling on an 83-year old president to regain his rigour of ’82 and thank him… DOs, SDOs, and governors muzzle the opposition, block democracy in the country and get rewarded with cars.
