'I always said I'd come back and haunt you' - Son receives funny and heartbreaking email from his dad, who died two years earlier
A reddit user Beersie_McSlurrp shared a story of how he was shocked to receive an email from his dad who had died two years ago. The E-Mail message was sent using the FutureMe site, which allows users to send emails to their future selves or to other people.
The man told his son that he "always said I will come back and haunt you", and opened the email with the line: "Hello Son, I am talking to you from the grave, wooooooooo."
He wrote: "Seriously, by the time you read this, I will have passed on. Hopefully by now you have adjusted well enough to life without the old man and you have managed to help your mother adjust.
"I have complete confidence you will be taking just as good care of her as I did. I have a few thoughts to share with you and a few insights which we never got around to discussing in the last few months where I was still coherent (I’m imagining the morphine will have turned me into a bit of a vegetable.)
"Hopefully I entertained you with some decent hallucinations or jibber jabber).
"The first thing I want to say is just how proud I am..."
Reddit user Beersie_McSlurrp said that it "gets personal" from then on.
He posted on the Reddit, "He told me how proud he was of me for becoming the rank of Chief (border security) and that he loved me. Really nice to receive so long after he passed."
FutureMe says on its website: "Usually, it's the future that will reflect back on the present. We decided to flip that around. So send your future self some words of inspiration. Or maybe a swift kick in the pants.
"Or just share some thoughts on where you'll or what you'll be up to in a year, three years...more? And then we'll do some time travel magic and deliver the letter to you."

A judge has granted permission to Meek Mill to release new tracks while he's under house arrest as long as he doesn't make any money from it.
A judge had initially told Meek Mill that he couldn't record new music while under house arrest but that has been reversed in order to 'protect his brand'.
Marafa’s Health in Very Bad Shape – In Hospital Since March 23

Marafa Hamidou Yaya, jailed former Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization is in a critical state of health, his counsel Patrice Monthe has said.
Barister Monthe made the disclosure at the Special Criminal Court, SCC, Tuesday April 5, when Yaya’s appeal came up for hearing.
The lawyer told the court that Marafa was admitted at the Yaounde Central Hospital since March 23 and has not been discharged since. “The former minster’s health is deteriorating at an alarming rate,” the counsel stated.
Marafa is currently serving a 25-year jail term for intellectual complicity in embezzlement of state funds. He was accused for the role he played in the purchase of a presidential jet that caused the state to push away 29 million United States dollars down the drain. The plane turned out technically defective after an unsatisfactory first flight. The former Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization has been in the dungeons of the Secretariat of State for Defence in Yaounde for about four years now.
Monthe, his lawyer, told the court that when he went to the Kondengui Maximum Security Prison in Yaounde to see his client, it was there that the Chief Medical Officer in Charge of the Prison told him that Marafa had since March 23 been transferred to the Yaounde Central Hospital for more intensive care. He, however, did not state exactly what was wrong with his client, but insisted Marafa is still undergoing many medical examinations.
The jury of seven headed by Justice Daniel Mekobe Sone proceeded to find out from the attorney general of the republic who confirmed that he too had been updated with that information by the Chief Medical Officer of the Kondengui prison.
Marafa’s counsel prayed the court to adjourn the case for another six weeks. The court adjourned the case for May 3 at 10am.
Opposition Leaders Invoke Arms Struggle

Four opposition party leaders have warned President Paul Biya and his entire administration not to plunge the country into a civil war. The politicians declared that should the Biya regime continue to violently quash opposition rallies in the country, Cameroonians may be bound to take up arms.
Maurice Kamto of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, CRM; Kah Walla of the Cameroon People’s Party, CPP; Ndem Asame of the Union of the Populations of Cameroon, UPC and Nkou Nvondo of the UNIVERS, frustrated by persistent disruption of their rallies, recently wrote a scathing letter to Biya. They accused the 83-year old president of dictatorship and using unorthodox methods to intimidate, subjugate and impose on Cameroonians a regime that has outlived its usefulness.
“Over the past 26 years, President Biya has used the uniformed services to perpetuate a quasi military regime that thrives on using the dangers associated with civil war to persuade Cameroonians to accept all forms of torments in the name of peace,” the politicians stated in their letter addressed specifically to The Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Rene Emmanuel Sadi.
They told the regime, through Sadi that Cameroonians cannot be said to be enjoying peace when they are not allowed to talk to one another or group themselves together to plan a common strategy to root out an archaic regime and replace it with one that guarantees them a better future.
“The regime does not allow some Cameroonians to talk to each other. Even when they are permitted to assemble you will always witness a strong presence of uniform men who comport themselves as if they are at war with supporters of opposition parties. Indeed, the majority of Cameroonians are frustrated and very unhappy,” the letter from the opposition leaders reads in part.
They warned the Biya regime that the discontent in a majority of Cameroonians is nearing a level where it could explode into a civil war if the ruling CPDM; the administration and top officials of the regime do not desist from denying Cameroonians their fundamental rights to freedom of association and freedom to carry out public demonstrations over any national issue for which they do not agree with the regime.
Mum charged with killing her newborn baby girl
She was arrested after an ambulance was called to her house on Aldwick Road, Bognor Regis, at 8.37am on Wednesday. They rushed her to the St Richard's Hospital in Chichester for urgent medical help but her baby girl didn't make it. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene, Sussex Police said.
Suminaite will appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court today April 11, charged with killing her baby.

We have to learn to stop taking on peoples problems as if they are our own. Loving people does not mean we have to carry their burdens and confusions on our back.
Sadly, You can only express your opinion on a situation. You can't want their life more than they do. This is in fact their life to figure out on their own and in their own time. I do believe in timing. I do believe timing is everything. You forcing your beliefs and dreams down ones throat is only going to cause resentment and possibly manifest deeper issues. Possibly to the point of no return. "People say time heals all wounds... I say time heals wounds but scars are left to remind you what you have been through and what you survived." Stop shattering your own heart by trying to make a relationship (friend, family, partner) work that clearly isn’t meant to work. We have to stop trying to repaint people's colors. We have to learn to believe the love we AREN'T given. You can't love someone into loving you. (God I wish it were that easy) You can’t force someone to be loyal, kind, understanding. You can’t force someone to be the person you need them to be. Even if it's for their own good!! Sometimes the person you want most is the person you’re best without. 😩😫 You have to understand... some things ARE supposed to happen in your life, but they just are NOT meant to be. Damn... It took me so many years to understand that.
Don’t lose yourself by trying to fix what’s meant to stay broken. God always has a plan even if we can't understand it (or don't want to understand it) Even in the darkest of places... Our Lord sees His vision.
We might not understand it at the moment but I promise you, your future will always bring understanding and clarity of why things didn’t work out. Don’t put your happiness on hold for someone (family, friend, partner) who isn’t holding on to you. "A Girl once told me… Be careful when trying to fix a broken person.
