Largest ever Anaconda is captured in Ecuador (photos)

This massive, serpentine beast weighing over 17ft doesn't only come from the family of the world's largest snakes. It is the largest ever captured. The capture of the Anaconda is part of a BBC documentary; Tribes, Predators and Me presented by Gordon Buchanan who lived alongside an indigenous Ecuadorian tribe, the Waorani, in the Amazon.

In the show, Buchanan joins a tribal family to hunt an Anaconda, the Amazon's most dangerous predator, the animal is a proven man-eater but the locals believe its capture and release is not only a sign of bravery but see the feat as a source of immense spiritual power.

There is also a scientific reason for the capture as the Waorani are losing their land to oil exploration - with scientists testing anacondas for the effects of oil pollution.

Buchanan lives alongside the indigenous people for two weeks learning their ways and how they have adapted to live alongside some of the world's most dangerous animals including Jaguars.

HASHTAGS MOCK BIYA’S LONG RULE

President Paul Biya has clocked 33 years in power, unleashing a social media storm of mockery in Cameroon and around the world.
Biya, one of “Africa’s last strongmen”, took power on 6 November 1982, two days after the surprise resignation of post-colonial leader Ahmadou Ahidjo.
Biya's has rolled out a plan to transform Cameroon by 2035 but many are judging him by his entire reign as he marks 33 years in power
Biya has rolled out a plan to transform Cameroon by 2035 but many are judging him by his entire reign as he marks 33 years in power
He is now one of the continent’s longest serving presidents, after revising the constitution in 2008 to avoid stepping down in 2011.
As chairman of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, Biya will automatically be the party’s candidate in 2018.
On assuming office, Biya promised an administration driven by rigour and moralisation, a break from the reppressive regime he inherited from Ahidjo.
Yet, he became noted for overseeing one of the world’s most corrupt countries, with a litany of democratic and economic shortcomings.
In 2012, he openly complained that his government was bugged by red tape and in a later speech expressed frustration with a country where nothing seemed to work.
“Inertia, incompetence or malice of some people,” he said, was holding back economic recovery and for that reason “a substantial segment of our population continues to languish in hardship”.
Nonetheless, Biya, 82, has been praised for keeping the country peaceful in a region where armed conflict is rife.
After years of denial, he has waged a controversial war on corruption and rolled out a plan to transform the country by 2035.
#33years
But many are judging him from his overall performance in 33 years.
To mark the anniversary of his multiple tenures since he came to power, supporters of the ruling party are staging events around the country, including a marathon in Yaounde.
The CPDM scribe Jean Nkuete called for moderate celebrations as a way to pay homage to victims of terrorism and the recent death of Muslim pilgrims in Mecca.
But social media users did not seem to have received the memo and lit the place on fire.
The hashtags #33years and its French equivalent #33ans, have been trending all week, particularly on twitter.
#33years generated more than 650,000 social media impressions in the last two days, while #33ans was trending at nearly 800,000.
Most of the activity happened on twitter, with users in the United States and, yes, women being the most vocal, according to several analytics sites.
Early on Friday, Dibussi Tande(@DibussiTande) had one of the top-rated #33years tweets.
“Biya’s ‘rigor and moralization’ policy paradoxically created a culture of lavishness & an ethos of ostentatious consumption,” tweeted Tande.
Tweeting with the handle @zuzeeko, another user wrote: “#33 years of bad roads, inaccessibility and infrastructural degradation…”
User Olivia Mukam Wandji (@sankara1111) tore down one of Biya’s outstanding merits, which analysts argue might constitute his most significant legacy, with two separate tweets.
“I don’t understand the logic: Because we enjoyed peace and stability we have to silently digest our race to the bottom.”
“If after #33years we think our choice is, either peace or underdevelopment, then our logic has been screwed.”
No subject was out of reach as Biya came under scrutiny in tweets that fluidly shifted from harsh criticism to dry humour.
“Jesus Christ would have lived and died with one head of state. Nice,” wrote Tchassa Kamga (hlkamga).
One user joked the only thing that needed to be celebrated was the locally brewed and very popular beer, 33 Export.
A few found comfort outside politics and the economy.
“At least in #33years @StanleyEnow has brought an @MTVbaseAfrica MAMA award back to Cameroon! Let’s keep working,” wrote @ModeMaisonPR.
Not everyone was smashing things though.
@ConceptAfrica: “#33ans within these #33years I’ve learned to change what I can, encourage others doing their best & forget about the government. #team237”

HERE ARE SIX MISTAKES YOU MUST MAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE

We always hear the saying, “Experience is the best teacher,” and by this time, we must know that this is absolutely true. While there may be some rough roads along the experience, it doesn’t mean that we will not be able to reach the smooth path soon. The ride won’t be always fun, you’ll make bad decisions at least once or twice, but that’s what makes the journey worth while. Making mistakes and learning from them is probably the best lesson you can learn.

Why? Because it is in mistakes that we get to know how strong we are to handle the inevitable and how brave we are to still push through. Accept the fact that no one in this world is perfect. We are bound to make countless wrong decisions but later on we will see the good in the bad. And with the mistakes we make, we learn to polish our skills. We learn how to choose wisely, and we get navigated to do the right things.
So, if you wonder how to gain success, you must not only look for the right steps to take, but also stumble a few times to learn important life lessons.

1. TRUST THE WRONG PEOPLE

All of us begin our lives being too trusting and open to people. However, not everyone’s trustworthy. But don’t worry. Eventually, with trusting the wrong people you’ll be able to find out who are the right ones that belong in your life.

2. SCREW UP YOUR FINANCES

Most of us spend our money without even thinking twice. Losing it all makes us realize how much we’ve had before ending up broke dew to bad financial decision. The next time you have money you’ll be more cautious.

3. WALK A BAD CAREER PATH

We all fear to make a wrong step on our career ladder. However, ending up on the wrong one is not always a waste of time. It will definitely show the potential of yours and outline the right steps to be taken.

4. MAKE SELFISH DECISIONS

As we grow older, we tend to make more and more selfish decisions. This selfishness will impact your life sooner or later and not in a good way. But without the bitter taste of dear people turning away from you because of your selfish decisions you won’t realize how important they are. Also, you’ll learn that selfishness narrows the world around you to the size of your persona only. Quite a shallow world regarding the endlessness of our Universe, right?

5. Take the easy way out
We’ve been through this scenario: taking the easy way to make everything simpler. However, it will hit you back with the realization of why haven’t you tried harder? Why didn’t you give your best? Since doing your best raises your selfestim and pleases your natural craving for creation. At the end of the day, you’ll see that it is in hardships and struggles that efforts satisfy you the most. So, give your best shot.

6. WORK TOO HARD

People are fooled into thinking that working their butts off every single day will make them successful individuals. But no. Don’t let your work rule your life. Take over. Just because you heard someone say that they work even on weekends doesn’t mean they’re doing great. It will just tire the life out of you. Remember that all work and no play makes a person dull and gray.

Biya, CPDM Sued For Long Stay In Power, Bad Governance

Prince Ekosso, Biya needs to compensate Cameroonians
Cameroon President, Paul Biya, and the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, have been sued at the Supreme Court for long stay in power and bad governance.
According to a complaint from the Central Committee of the United Socialist Democratic Party, USDP, represented by its Chairperson, Prince Michael Ngwese Ekosso, addressed to the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court and its First President, five counts are levelled against Biya and the CPDM Central Committee.
The registrars of the two courts acknowledged receipt of the complaints dated March 7, 2016, while the case is registered under No 244 at the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court and carries registration No235.
In his complaint, Ekosso stated that; “Mr. Paul Biya and members of his Government have completely refused to apply Articles 65 and 66 of the Constitution with impunity. Article 66 calls on top functionaries of the State to declare their assets before and after leaving office. The USDP Chair also complained that “the constituent membership of ELECAM is infested with CPDM militants, thus preventing a free and fair election in Cameroon.
“Mr. Biya, in complicity with his ‘CPDM Majority’ in the Upper and Lower Houses of the Assembly are busy making attempts to tamper with the Constitution again and to schedule early Presidential election in Cameroon, in order to eternalise their grip on power, whereas, constitutionally, such elections should come up only in 2018.”
Based on such complaints, Ekosso told the two courts in count one that; “Mr. Biya has failed to perform his duties as Head of State in a safe and effective manner, as described in the oath of office by not respecting the Constitution of Cameroon.”
In count two, he states that; “Biya and the CPDM Central Committee, which exhibits corrupt governance is crippling our national development as the population lacks basic facilities like water, good shelter, good roads, good and affordable healthcare; and free, good and practical education for our children, especially at the primary school level.”
Count three notes that; “Cameroon has failed to progress under Biya and members of his Government due to Faustian, myopic and selfish backward type of leadership planted to power,” while count four states that Biya and the CPDM Central Committee are unjust, corrupt, selfish, greedy and wicked to lead the Cameroonian people.
Count five claims that, “Mr. Biya and the CPDM Central Committee have failed in the war which he declared against Boko Haram in Paris on May 17, 2014, because our sons and daughters are dying on daily basis in the North and Mr. Biya has never gone to the North to ascertain the situation. Rather, he is always between Yaounde and Europe.”

Prince Ekosso and the USDP Central Committee are asking the courts to cause Biya and the CPDM Central Committee to compensate Cameroonians with over FCFA 2 billion together with any attorney fees and court. In the complaint, which copies have been sent to the Cameroon Bar Association; the Fako Lawyers Association, the National Commission on Human Rights and Freedoms; diplomatic missions in Yaounde; the EU Commissioner in Cameroon; the UN and the African Union, the USDP Chair has called on Biya to step down, organise free, fair and democratic elections in which he will not be a candidate.

Did South Africa pay a $10m bribe to host the World Cup in 2010?

It's all coming out now! FIFA has launched a legal battle to claim more than £100 million from corrupt officials and admitted for the first time that South Africa paid bribes for votes for the 2010 World Cup. In a legal submission to US authorities, they have openly accused South Africa of paying a US$10 million bribe to secure votes for the 2010 World Cup. South Africa has however strongly denied any wrong doing.
FIFA also highlighted how one of the main accused, former FIFA vice-president Jeffrey Webb, has allegedly been leading a champagne lifestyle despite agreeing to hand over millions of dollars as part of a plea deal with US authorities.

Richard Bona says Biya has sent his men after him because of a Facebook post

Richard Bona is arguably one of Cameroon's greatest musicians and legendary guitarist. He seems to have launched a war against Biya and his government. In a Facebook post Richard Bona who is currently based in the USA insinuated that President Biya has ordered his secret service men to eliminate him.

According to Richard Bona, the secret service asked him to take down his Facebook post where he said Biya is "more dangerous than Boko Haram". Richard blames Biya for the Laquantinie Hospital saga.

Richard Bona described by many as courteous, warm and funny and of course persuasive, wrote on his face book page that: “Mr President, your secret service are active on my person. I-do-not-play-Games. And my skin is TUFFF. My Legal team is ready”.
