Woman calls 911 after getting stuck in a chimney while breaking into a home
Surely a burglary can't get any worse than having to turn yourself in while in the process. That was the experience of 20-year-old Lauren Fox who somehow managed to get herself stuck in a chimney while breaking into a home in Spring, Texas.
The young woman was seen smiling as police led her to the squad car and only suffered minor scratches and bumps.
Kenyan woman gruesomely murders her six-month-old son in bid to 'free him' of demons
Irene Mbithe has been arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, after she ripped out her six-month-old son's tongue and disemboweled him in an attempt to exorcise him after she became convinced he was possessed by demons. Residents raised alarm and called police after Irene's aunt, Catherine Muthama, arrived at the house and saw the gruesome scene.
'When I arrived I was surprised to see the mother having pulled out the tongue of the baby and I screamed at her asking why she had killed him,' the aunt said. The woman is believed to have cut out her son's tongue and scooped out his intestines in an exorcism attempt which neighbours say lasted all night.
The mother, who looked remorseful yet confused, said she meant no harm to him: 'God punish me if I have done anything wrong to my son who I love so much and have prayed for years to conceive and give birth to.'
Police took Mbithe for questioning at the Kayole Police station while the body of the baby was taken to the mortuary.

He was born through frozen embryo transfer (FET) (Picture: Barcroft) |
China is celebrating the birth of the country’s longest preserved test tube baby, who was fertilised more than 12 years ago. He was born on Wednesday in Tangdu Hospital, Shaanxi Province after surviving as a frozen embryo for more than a decade. He was fertilised more than 12 years ago
It’s not a sinister experiment, but a success story that could give hope to women across the country struggling with fertility problems. China Daily reported a 40-year-old woman who suffered from polycystic ovary syndrome as well as blocked fallopian tubes had her embryos frozen when she first started trying to get pregnant through IVF in 2003. Thirteen years later, after the relaxation of the country’s one child policy, she gave birth to her second son (pictured) weighing 7lb 6oz.
He was born through frozen embryo transfer (FET) . When she first began fertility treatment, doctors harvested 12 of her eggs which they fertilised with her husband’s sperm.
They implanted two of them straightaway, and nine months later she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
Then they froze the rest which were judged to be viable and the woman paid to store them at a hospital in case she was able to have another child later on. Out of seven frozen embryos, three survived being thawed – and one of those was the healthy baby boy born this week.
Congratulations!

Six Major Branding Mistakes To Avoid
Q: What are the most common mistakes we should avoid when building a brand?
A: Being an entrepreneur and launching a brand isn’t easy. It takes a lot of skill, hard work and usually a little luck. When it comes to branding decisions, sometimes one bad mistake can derail even the best idea. To be sure this doesn’t happen to you, make sure you avoid making any of these six most common branding mistakes:
1. Being customer oriented and not competitor oriented.
You can assume that most of your competitors are going to be customer oriented. So what happens in the marketplace? Everyone winds up with a similar product.
Back in 2009, we began working for Great Wall Motor in China. The research we received from the client told us that Chinese buyers preferred sedans rather than SUVs because sedans were more prestigious and SUVs were practical vehicles with no social status. So we recommend that Great Wall focus on SUVs because the other 28 Chinese auto companies were likely to focus on sedans. As a result, Great Wall became the largest, most-profitable Chinese automobile company.
Entrepreneurs should do the same. Start by analyzing your competitors and try to find a way to be different. You can't win by being better; you can only win by being different.
2. Not defining your focus.
Every successful brand has a focus. If your brand is the market leader like Pizza Hut, your focus is "leadership." Domino's narrowed its focus to "home delivery" and became the second-largest pizza chain. Papa John’s narrowed its focus to "better ingredients, better pizza." Little Caesars narrowed its focus to "two pizzas for the price of one." There are hundreds of pizza chains, but these four chains dominate the category.
For entrepreneurs, you need to make sure your company has a strong angle and all your actions and goals are in line with it. Ask yourself, What category am I competing in? And how do I verbalize my difference in two or three words.
3. Thinking names don’t matter.
Hansen Natural Company had a great idea. Launch a 16-oz. energy drink to compete with 8.3-oz. Red Bull and the other energy-drink brands. The brand name: "Hansen's Natural Energy Pro." The brand went nowhere. Then Hansen launched Monster energy drink, also in a 16-oz. can. Today, Monster is a strong No.2 brand to Red Bull.
Names come last. Entrepreneurs should first develop a marketing strategy. And then name their products or services to reflect that strategy.
4. Not using a strong visual.
Many powerful brands have been built by using a visual that communicates something about the brand. Coca-Cola's contour bottle. Marlboro's cowboy. Corona's lime. Stella Artois' chalice. Blue Moon's orange slice. Geico's gecko. Aflac's duck.
Before launching a product or service, entrepreneurs should try to find a visual that reinforces the marketing strategy. Quite often, that requires either a change in strategy or a different brand name, or both.
5. Assuming your new brand will take off rapidly.
That leads to many bad decisions, such as spending heavily on advertising to launch the brand.
Today, the best way to launch a new brand is with PR. You should only use advertising after your brand has become established. PR first, advertising second is our mantra.
Today, the best way to launch a new brand is with PR. You should only use advertising after your brand has become established. PR first, advertising second is our mantra.
Keep in mind, Entrepreneurs should be prepared to spend a substantial amount of time doing PR. Hiring a PR firm is an option only for those companies that have already built a substantial business, otherwise it is a waste of time and money.
6. Expanding your brand.
Once your brand starts to take off, you need to resist the urge to expand. Look at McDonald's. In spite of adding dozens and dozens of items to its menus, the chain today is in trouble. On the other hand, look at In-N-Out Burger, a West Coast chain that still has just four things to eat on its menus: hamburger, cheeseburger, double-double (a double hamburger) and French fries. Per-unit sales last year. McDonald's: $2,476,000. In-N-Out Burger: $2,546,000. (If In-N-Out Burger were a national chain, its sales would probably be much greater.) Provide link to data point.
Look at Yahoo, a company that once dominated the "search" market on the Internet and was worth $140 billion on the stock market. But Yahoo rapidly diversified into a portal and also made many acquisitions and turned them into Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Games, Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Pager, etc. Today, Yahoo is worth just $30 billion on the stock market and perhaps $25 billion of that is due to its holdings in Alibaba.
Meanwhile Google remained a pure search engine and is now worth $498 billion on the stock market. But even Google is falling into the trap of expanding its brand. That's the mantra of corporate American, keep expanding the brand until it falls off the cliff.
Except for geographic expansion, entrepreneurs should almost never expand their brands. Quite often, however, they should do the opposite: narrow the focus.

Zimbabwean man and wife have the most unique twins in the history the UK (photos)
Identical twins Amelia and Jasmine are thought be the first black and white twins born in the UK, despite coming from the same egg. The girls were born to mum Libby Appleby, 37, from West Rainton, County Durham who is white and her partner Tafadzwa Madzimbamuto, 40, who is black. They are identical or monozygotic twins, meaning they developed from the same zygote, which split and formed two embryos.
Monozygotic twins are always the same sex, share identical blood groups and genetic make-up and always closely resemble each other. There are other reported cases of non-identical twins being born with different coloured skin and eyes to mixed race couples in the UK.
But, in what is believed to be a first in this country, Amelia was born with dark skin, black hair and brown eyes while her sister Jasmine has fair skin, blue eyes and mousy curls, despite being genetically identical. Explaining the phenomenon Dr Claire Steves from the Department of Twin Research, said that multiple genes control skin colour and while identical twins are very likely to share them completely, it is not guaranteed.
Jennifer Garner breaks her silence on Nannygate, says she doesn't blame the nanny for her divorce
After nearly a year of speculations, actress Jennifer Garner has finally opened up about the demise of her 10 year marriage to Ben Affleck in Vanity Fair's March issue. Ben was accused of having an affair with the couple's 28-year-old nanny, Christine Ouzounian, which led to the demise of their marriage...but Jennifer says they'd been separated for months before she heard of the nanny. Sharing her own side of the story, the actress said;
"Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation," she says. That said, she doesn't feel Christine was a good fit for her family. "Bad judgment? Yes. It's not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives." Months later, Jennifer is still picking up the pieces. "I have had to have conversations about the meaning of 'scandal.'"Jennifer said despite the pain she went through following the demise of her marriage, she is uninterested in trashing Ben - though she appreciates the public's concern.
"People have pain—they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain," she says. "No one needs to hate him for me. I don't hate him. Certainly we don't have to beat the guy up. Don't worry—my eyes were wide open during the marriage. I'm taking good care of myself."To take care of herself, Jennifer said she exiled herself from the Internet.
"I turned on CNN one day, and there we were," she recalls. "I just won't do it anymore. I took a silent oath with myself last summer to really stay offline. I am totally clueless about all of it." Ben, however, paid more attention to how their breakup played out in the press. "Ben says, 'Oh, you just don't care,' and I say, 'No, it's the opposite.' It hurts me so much, and I care so much. I cannot be driven by the optics of this. I cannot let anger or hurt be my engine," Jennifer says. "I need to move with the big picture always on my mind, and the kids first and foremost."

This man turns 15 on Monday while his son turns 5
Fred Shekoufeh looks a lot older than 15, but then again his son, Eric, doesn't look four either.
Shekoufeh and son, who live in La Mesa, California, share a unique bond that goes beyond genetics: They were both born on February 29.
Eric is celebrating his 5th official birthday while his dad is celebrating his 15th on the same day. Both father and son were born on February 29, an event that has a 1 in 2.1 million chance of happening, according to Time.com.
Fred Shekoufeh, a native of Iran, didn't realize his birthday was unusual until 1979 when he moved to the U.S. and immigration officials commented on it.
It wasn't clear at first. "It's confusing," Shekoufeh told HuffPost.
Eric Shekoufeh said sharing such an unusual birthday with his dad is "pretty incredible," but admits being born on February 29 has some challenges.
Eric said his favorite Feb. 29th birthday was in 2012, when he turned "four."

"I get lots of jokes about whether I should celebrate on Feb. 28 or March 1," Eric said, adding that he tries to stretch it out on both days.
"It's a weird day. People don't recognize it on social media, but when they find out, they never forget it."
"Everyone and their mother made a joke about me turning four, and that four-year-olds shouldn't be able to drive cars. Well, evidently I could," he said. "I was glad to have an actual birthday on such on emphatic year: getting a license. No confusion at the DMV. I hope I can say the same when I'm going out for my 21st."
This year, Shekoufeh, a student at UCLA, plans to do more of his celebrating at Big Bear over the weekend.
"I don't plan to push it over to March 1st," he said.
He said he is more excited about next year when he will officially turn 21 and can legally drink alcohol.
"Legally, I should be able to drink on the 28th, but I'm expecting a bouncer to look at my license and tell me it's a fake," he said.
Man kills four members of his family then calls the police and kills himself after a standoff
A gunman killed four people in rural Washington state then called the Police to tell them he had shot his family. The Policeman who answered the call, took another officer to the caller's home but he refused to let them in and refused to leave the house.
They tried to negotaite with the shooter for about 3 hours, then gave up and called the SWAT team who burts into the home and found bodies littered all over the home.
A 12-year-old girl related to the victims survived and was taken to the hospital for an evaluation, Mason County sheriff's Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling said. Her condition was not immediately known.
Neither the gunman nor his four victims have been identified.
A neighbour said the couple had been married for about four to five years and lived with 3 adopted children, 2 from Russia and 1 from China. He also said that the husband had recently been hospitalized and was on a lot of medications.
The neighbor also said it was common for the family to do shooting practice and that's what he thought of when he heard the gunfire.

"I was getting a load of wood into the house, and I hear some gunshots," he said. "Four or five, a pause and then another round."
"It's actually really scary because when you live out like this, you want to feel like your neighbors are someone you can rely on, not somebody you have to be afraid of because we are out in a secluded area," said another neighbor, Lynn Johnson.
