MUST READ – See What Happens When You Eat Too Much Salt (Photo)

Our bodies need a certain amount of sodium to survive, and one of the most common ways we get it is in salt. About 40% of what’s in your table salt is sodium.

Salt does more than just take that caramel cookie to the next level. Healthy levels of it in the body also help keep our blood pressure under control and ensure that our muscles and nerves function properly.

Each person reacts to salt differently. But generally, physicians agree that if you want to control high blood pressure, you should limit your salt intake, and not doing so can be unhealthy.

Worker accused of setting bomb under bosses' bed

A bomb in a crawl space sent the owners of a northwest Louisiana horse farm flying from their bed to the floor, but they walked away uninjured, a law enforcement official said Monday. Authorities say a maintenance worker placed the explosive there, and he faces charges that include attempted capital murder and making a bomb.

"It was an absolute miracle" that the owners were able to walk away, said Lt. Bill Davis, a spokesman for the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. The blast threw Bobby and Tracy Hewlett several feet into the air about 4 a.m. Saturday and shook the house, knocking pictures from walls and other items from shelves, Davis said.
"They were thrown from the bed with covers, blankets and all. They had a soft landing," he said. Three dogs and a cat were on the bed with the couple, and they also were unhurt, Davis said.
Deputies arrested maintenance worker Douglas Holley, 54, who had worked and lived at the Holly Hill Farm Equestrian Center in Benton for about four years. About six months ago, he wanted Bobby Hewlett, a veterinarian, to help with his horse, but the vet was unable, Davis said. That's the only problem the Hewletts recall with their employee, Davis said.

Online jail records show he was being held without bond on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and several other charges, including a Caddo Parish court warrant from 2009 on a charge of letting cats and big dogs roam at large.

The Hewletts had just returned from a week's vacation abroad and were jet-lagged, Davis said. "They were sleeping, but not sleeping too soundly," he said. "It was a rude awakening."
He said the explosion left a basketball-sized hole in the hardwood floor and a hole in the bottom of the mattress.

A search of Holley's home, the farm grounds and a few hundred feet from the Hewletts' house turned up bomb-making materials and indications that Holley had researched how to make explosives, Davis said. David said he did not know whether the bomb was set with a timer or lit with a fuse.
"He knew where they were and where they would be," Davis said.

If Your Guy Has These 21 Habits, Marry Him Right Now

                           MrRight2

Hold tight and never let him go!
1. He knows your breakfast order by heart.

Whether it’s a toasted whole wheat sesame bagel with scrambled eggs and cheese and freshly squeezed orange juice or just black coffee. He’ll run out to pick it up or take you with him and recite your order by heart.
He pays attention to the details of what you like.
2. He checks in on his way home.
With a quick text, “Leaving the bar in 10 minutes. See you soon…” he lets you know that he hasn’t forgotten you, and that he’s ready to be with his favorite person again.
He’s not sending this text because he thinks you’re paranoid, needy or insecure. He sends it out of mutual respect. He knows that giving you a head’s up prevents you from worrying about his safety or his level of sobriety. And it reminds you that he realizes the best part of his night has yet to begin.
It’s also keeping you in the loop so you can cue up the movie you’ve been waiting to watch together.
3. He takes care of you.
He’ll grab you an Advil and a glass of water if you have a headache. He’ll hit the pharmacy for some tissues and cough meds and pick up chicken noodle soup when you have a bad head cold. He’ll force you to take zinc lozenges and nudge you to see a doctor when you claim to be too busy to make an appointment.
4. He calls during the day just to check in.
He may have a funny story to share or he might simply want to see how work is going. He’ll often try to convince you to shut down early so you can spend time together
5. He’s great with kids.
In fact, you’re pretty sure he could run a sports camp of some type. Kids flock to him and are eager to spend time with him. He’s a great role model. His upbeat personality and enthusiasm are infectious. There are huge grins on children’s little faces when he’s around.
6. He makes time for you.
No matter how busy things get for him, he’ll never forget to set aside consistent alone time with you. You’re a priority to him, so he’s not afraid to turn down plans with “the guys” in favor of some QT with his lady.
7. He’s responsive to each and every one of your calls and texts.
He’ll never go missing for multiple days in a row. He’s reliable. He won’t stand you up when you have plans. He doesn’t ask for rain checks because excuses are not part of his DNA. He’s not one to be consistently late because he cares enough to be on time.
8. He doesn’t keep in touch with ex-girlfriends.
He knows that once a relationship is over, there is no good that can come from staying in close contact, particularly once he’s in a new relationship. There are no strange phone numbers popping up on his cell phone.
Not that you know this because you don’t even feel the need to cybersnoop.
9. On certain occasions, you receive heartfelt gifts accompanied by thoughtful greeting cards.
You’re into birthdays and anniversaries, so he is happy to celebrate them with you. If he knows you’re into writing, he’ll get you a beautiful journal.
He inserts his humor into presents, too. For instance, if he sings you your favorite song, he’ll change the words to lyrics so they’re about that annoying co-worker you’ve been telling him about.
10. He’ll be a homebody when you’d rather be at home with his hot body.
Instead of getting dressed up and spending a lot of money on a big night out, he’s ecstatic to stay in and curl up on the couch with you to watch a movie and order takeout. His back-to-back partying nights are behind him and he’s perfectly ok with it.
11. He still screams like a 7-year-old boy when his favorite football team scores a touchdown.
He will be loyal to his team no matter how many times they lose, how many quarterbacks they go through in one season, or how far down the rankings they fall. This loyalty will be passed down to his relationships with family, friends, and even his future spouse. Once devoted, he’s in it for life.
13. He’s still regularly in touch with several of his childhood friends.
Each considers your guy his best friend. He makes the time to call them back to find out what’s going on with them and will find a way to connect with them despite living in different cities and time zones.
14. He over-tips the wait staff at restaurants on a regular basis and is exceptionally polite to service industry workers in general.
You know that if he cares enough to treat total strangers with respect that he’d do that times ten for you, and everyone else he loves.
15. He’s mature.
He is not one to get swept up in the crowd’s momentum without making his own decisions. If several of his friends are doing whiskey shots until 4 AM, he’s the one making sure the tab is paid and that everyone gets home safely.
16. He’s incredibly handsome without trying.
He’s low maintenance and dresses for comfort. The more you’ve gotten to know him, the better looking he’s become. He couldn’t care less what brand your jeans are or how high your heels are. He finds you beautiful in everything.
17. He says at least one thing every day that makes you crack up.
It’s not always intentional—sometimes, it’s just his outlook on things. Though he definitely gets your sense of humor and loves to make you laugh.
18. He knows how to handle you when you’re in a bad mood.
Whether it’s letting you rant for ten minutes straight while you go on about the incredibly selfish friend you have or to force you to go for a walk. He knows better than to start pressing buttons when you’re in this state and he’ll always take your side, even if you’re wrong.
19. He’s secure enough to love your strengths.
He supports and encourages your independence, which is what he loves about you. He respects your need to keep up your own friendships but is happy to join you when invited.
20. He smells really good.
When you hug him, you just want to keep on hugging him, just to breathe in his amazing scent that encapsulates the unique impression he makes. You hope that whatever you’re wearing will absorb just a little bit of his magic and hold on tight to it, releasing traces of it sporadically throughout your day.
21. He’s your biggest fan.
When someone asks him about you, he lights up and proudly describes someone that you’re excited to be. He celebrates your successes because he’s someone who knows you inside and out and can appreciate both your struggles and achievements.

Family members jailed after teenager was brutally beaten to death

Members of the family of a teenage girl who was beaten to death at her home after suffering years of abuse were jailed today.
Shahena Uddin, 19, suffered strange and brutal punishments at the hands of her family and was physically and verbally abused.

When she was found dead at her home, tests showed she had suffered head wounds and injuries consistent with her being beaten with weapons.
Members of Shahena's family have now been given combined prison sentences totalling 56 years for the abuse she suffered.

Her older brother Suhail Uddin, 35, received 10 years for causing or allowing the death of a vulnerable adult and conspiracy to convert the course of justice.
His wife Salma Begum, 32, was jailed for life for a minimum of 18 years after being convicted of murder.

Shahena's siblings were also jailed with Jewel Uddin, 27, receiving eight years, Jhuhal Uddin, 33, nine years, Tohel Uddin, 24, six-and-a-half years and Rehena Uddin, 22, five years.

Shahena was found dead at her home in Watford, Herts, on October 11 last year.

Jhuhal Uddin: Jailed for 9 years

A trial held at St Albans Crown Court heard Shahena was subjected to a 'regime of fear' and was physically and verbally abused.

The jury heard the punishments she endured included being forced to lick the toilet seat and eat her own faeces.
She also wrote a heartbreaking letter to Salma saying:
"I'm begging you to please help me. I feel like I have no-one..."It hurts when you call me a cow and a rat-dog... I am suffering. I have no-one to tell so please can you help me. "I will put my head in the toilet for you just to forgive me."
The truth of what exactly happened will never be known as the family refused to talk to the police and mounted a cover-up operation after the 19-year-old's death.
Ambulance staff called to the house in Leavesden Road, Watford on October 11 last year found her lifeless body in the bathroom.

The paramedics were told she had felt sick and fainted, but Shahena had been beaten with weapons in the course of the previous 24 hours, suffering head wounds and injuries and bruises to her body.
Shahena, who was one of eight siblings in a Bangladeshi family, was sometimes struck with a plastic baseball bat, Wii bat, a mop handle, and a glow stick.

Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC said her "offences" were eating at the wrong speed or not eating her food.

Tohel Uddin: Jailed for 6 and a half years

She was made to eat large amounts of rice and would be made to lick the toilet seat and stand for long periods staring into the toilet bowl.

She was told to eat her own faeces and vomit and pieces of paper and stand for long periods of time.
Shahena, who was just 4 feet 11 tall but weighed 13 stone, wasn't allowed to use the lavatory and, on occasions, she was forced to use a sink, getting into even more trouble.

Salma Begum: Jailed for at least 18 years

Pathologist Dr Robert Chapman said her eyes were black and swollen and her temple, both sides and the back of her head were covered in bruising. He said her lips were cut.
Dr Chapman said he found bruising to her shoulders and it appeared a "rod like" object with parallel sides has been used to strike her.

Strike marks were also found across her right breast, indicating that it had been "targeted."
In addition he said he found bruise marks to her hands, fingers and forearms, which indicated she had tried to defend herself from blows.

Suhail Uddin: Jailed for 10 years

There were bruise marks he said across her legs, which again he said appeared to have been caused by a rod like implement with parallel sides. He concluded she had choked on her own vomit.

Next-door-neighbour Michelle Crawford said that on the night of the murder she was woken by a loud thudding noise.
"It sounded like they were tenderising meat," she told the jury of six men and six women.

Rehena Uddin: Jailed for five years

Jewel Uddin: Jailed for 8 years

Burkina Faso issues warrant for ex-leader Compaore over murder

Burkina Faso has issued an international arrest warrant for ousted leader Blaise Compaore in connection with the murder of former president Thomas Sankara nearly 30 years ago, judicial sources told Reuters on Monday.
The popular leader's 1987 murder is one of the most infamous assassinations of Africa's turbulent post-independence period, and Burkina Faso's interim government has pledged to solve it.

A body believed to be Sankara's was exhumed earlier this year and an autopsy showed it was riddled with bullets, strengthening assertions that he was executed in the 1987 coup that brought Compaore to power.

Compaore himself was driven from power last October by crowds opposing his bid to change the West African country's constitution and extend his 27-year rule. He fled to neighboring Ivory Coast, where he is now thought to be based.
"I confirm that an international arrest warrant was issued against (ex-)President Blaise Compaore by the investigating judge," Prosper Farama, a lawyer for Sankara's family, told Reuters. He said the charges were murder and complicity in the assassination, among others.
Two other judicial sources who requested anonymity confirmed the warrant, which they said was issued on Dec. 4. A Burkina government spokesman was not available for comment.
Bruno Kone, Ivory Coast's government spokesman, said, "The government has not been notified. We have nothing official and no comment to make."

The charges against Compaore mark a major step in the case as interim authorities prepare to hand over power to former prime minister Roch Marc Kabore, winner of a November presidential election.
Sankara took power in a coup in 1983 and pursued a philosophy of Marxism and pan-Africanism that led him to be called "Africa's Che Guevara." Many African intellectuals view him as a visionary.

Another family lawyer said on Monday that a team of French investigators had failed to identify DNA from samples of a corpse presumed to be Sankara. The family has two weeks to seek a second expert opinion.

At least 10 others have already been charged in connection with his murder. They include General Gilbert Diendere, who led a failed coup in September.

Woman who had ribs removed to look like Jessica Rabbit needs corset to stay alive

25 year old Pixee Fox who became famous for removing her ribs to look like Jessica Rabbit has been warned she needs a corset to stay alive. After spending £80,000 on the surgery, doctors are warning her that her corset may need to be worn at all times to keep her organs in place.

The model got the dream body she wanted after having six ribs removed for a thinner waist.
For good measure she also had a boob job, facial interventions and a lift to her bottom. This allowed her to get a record-breaking 14-inch waist.

However the self-proclaimed "body modification artist" who has also compared herself to a "living cartoon" has been criticised by a health expert during an appearance on Romanian television.

The Swedish model had visited the doctor beforehand, but when interviewed by TV hosts Madalin Ionescu and Adelina Pestritu, he said he was concerned about the complications the surgery has on the body - adding that a corset was essential.

Pixee said: "It’s recommended to have something to compress your body to keep everything in place after the surgery and also to provide some protection.
"This corset was custom-made for me to fulfil that requirement."
But wearing the corset too much could have its own complications.

The medic added:"If a person wears it 24 hours a day, then their liver, kidneys and everything else are not going to be in their proper place."

Health scare for Pope Francis as he is unable to stand at Vatican speech

Fears for the health of Pope Francis have resurfaced after he was unable to stand at an official event, explaining that he was 'not feeling strong.'
Addressing Vatican officials in a Christmas speech on Monday, Francis said he had the flu. He said:

'Dear brothers and sisters, Forgive me for not standing up as I speak to you, but for some days I've been suffering from flu and I am not feeling very strong. With your permission, I'll speak to you sitting down.'
The pope has been unsteady of his feet at times in recent months, stumbling several times in public. Last week he celebrated his 79th birthday.

In November as walked up the steps in the Basilica of St John Lateran in Rome he seemingly tripped on his robes, forcing nearby priests to grasp his arms and help him up the steps.
The same week he tripped as he walked up some steps in St Peter's Square, this time being brought to his hands and knees.

“I am still the president'' - Read Sepp Blatter's strong reaction to 8 year football ban

Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter has responded to his 8year ban from football by FIFA's Independent Ethics Committee after the committee said he wrongfully paid 2million Swiss francs (£1.35m) to Michel Platini in 2011.

Despite the pair's protests that they did nothing wrong when Blatter paid the former UEFA president the money nine years after both men claimed it was originally due, Blatter was fined 50,000 Swiss francs or £34,000 and Platini 80,000 Swiss francs or £54,000 in addition to being banned.

Speaking at a press conference this morning in Zurich where he spoke German, English, French and Spanish in the space of five minutes, 79 year old Blatter wearing a plaster on his face, claimed that he was a victim, that he remains president of FIFA and that he will take his case to the court of arbitration for sport.
“To say that it is a good day for me or for FIFA, it would be totally wrong” Blatter said. “You can identify me as an optimist. Together with a Swiss lawyer, we thought that we had convinced the panel, with Mr Eckert in the chair, about the situation with the payment. We thought that we were in a situation that was clear, with a clean sheet. “We had a oral contract, a gentleman’s agreement. This was made in 1998 after the World Cup. What astonished me now when I talk about the decision today is that they deny the existence of such an agreement. This agreement was confirmed by two meetings. We have the proof that this agreement existed. “Therefore the 2m Swiss francs paid to Platini went through the finance committee, the executive committee and was done in good terms. This is a donation. This is a gift. We avoided the issue of corruption. We did this because this arrangement was in the Fifa books. You can have oral contracts. Once again we go to the appeal committee. We go to Cas, the court of arbitration for sport. There might have been an administrative error, but this was nothing to do with the ethics. This cannot be proven. If it cannot be proven, then it cannot be guilty.” Blatter continued to defend himself, making reference to the late Nelson Mandela. “Mr Mandela was talking about humanity. Humanity needs no other significance than to respect each other and I say that to celebrate humanity through football was created by this great humanist. “I will fight,” he added. “I will fight for me and I will fight for Fifa. Suspended for what? I spoke with my lawyer this morning and we were not surprised that the notification was made first to the media. This committee has no right to go against the president of Fifa. The president can only be removed by the congress. Even suspended, I am still the president. I regret, but I am not ashamed. “I’m really sorry. I’m sorry that I am still somewhere a punching ball. As president of Fifa, I’m still this punching ball. I’m sorry for Fifa. I’m sorry for football. I’m also sorry about me. How I am treated in this world. “Human beings needs to be respected. It has created a lot of collateral damage in the families. My family was mocked. I regret I am this punching bag. FIFA is still working well, I congratulate Barcelona to winning the Club World Cup. I am a man of principles. These principles are: never take money that is not earned. Secondly, pay your debts. I’ll be back”
