There is a scandal in the Yaounde as quadruplets are killed at birth as a result of negligence from the medical staff at the central hospital. Consistent reports say that four babies have died tragically the Central Hospital of Yaounde this Friday morning , March 25, 2016.
According to the babies father’s testimony, Nkimih Alfred, on his Facebook page,
” The pregnancy was six months when my wife went for her usual consultations. The doctors asked her to come to the labour room. My wife replies that she is not there to give birth (…) the doctors insisted, saying that there is no problem that he had to make only a little effort. Miraculously, the four children were born. But instead of taking care of them, they were placed in a room without incubators given that the children who were very fragile “.
According to him, the doctors of Central Hospital had contacted the Chantal Biya Foundation who refused to give incubators. Mr. Claude Abate, president of an employers’ group, a man who is very active on social networks and on local media, states that ” parents had even been chased out of the hospital supposedly before TVs and media men arrived” . He promises to lead this investigation about the scandal involving this health care facility.
For now, there has been no official statement from the authorities. This tragic incident comes two weeks after that of Laquintinie hospital in Douala.
