BRITISH BOXER KHAN READY TO BATTLE FOR WORLD TITLE

Amir Khan is ready to fight Saul Alvarez for world boxing title in Las Vegas. He will fight the Mexican for the WBC world middleweight title on 7 May in Las Vegas.
The 29 year old boxer is a former light-welterweight world champion who has not fought since outpointing Chris Algieri in New York in May. However, 25 year old Alvarez beat Miguel Cotto by a unanimous points decision to claim the title in Las Vegas in November.
Alvarez has lost once and won 46 of his 48 fights. The fight has been set at a catchweight of 155lb, eight more than Khan weighed in victory against Algieri and a jump of two weight divisions. The usual weight limit for middleweight is 160lb, but Alvarez’s last few fights have had the same weight stipulation.

Khan’s announcement also rules him out of a fight against IBF welterweight champion and domestic rival Kell Brook at Wembley on June 4. “I know Canelo fights the best and wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to face me like others have,” said Khan. “My goal is to always fight the biggest names and the best fighters. That is why I’m excited for this fight. “I know I have the speed and ability to beat him and will give my fans what they deserve.”
Khan has won 31 and lost three of his 34 professional fights.

10 Interview Question Responses You Should Know By Heart

You’ve researched the company, updated your CV and even stalked the CEO on Facebook – and now you just have to make it through the interview.

Increasingly, in order to scout out the top talent, businesses are now throwing curveball questions during the interview process. Asking about seemingly unrelated topics can help give a company a wider snapshot into the person and their life.
Recruiters and top career experts to reveal the interview questions every candidate should know the answer to by heart – and how to handle them if one is thrown your way.
What are you proud to have accomplished at your last job?
This question gives the interviewer the opportunity to learn your strengths. Simply saying: ‘I increased social media engagement’ isn’t going to give your interviewer a sense of what you accomplished. Instead, tell them how you increased social media engagement for the company and why your help was valuable.
It’s important to master the art of the humble brag to make a good impression. Feeling proud of your accomplishments is fine. Endlessly discussing your value to the last company you worked for gives the impression you are arrogant.
How would your previous manager describe you?
Why are you being asked? An interviewer will use this question to gauge how you see yourself in manager’s eyes, and to determine how well you get along with management.
Remember, if you’ve given (or plan to give) your previous manager as a reference, the interviewer can confirm your answer to this question, so it’s best to be as honest as possible. Talk about your attitude toward work, ability to work in a group and the positive aspects of your working relationship with your old manager. If you don’t get along with your old manager, try not to let this influence your response, and instead talk about your role within your previous team.
Why are you looking to leave your current job?
The interviewer wants to know that you have clearly thought through your decision to leave your current job, and that you know what you want out of your next role.
Never use this question as an excuse to complain about your current or previous employer, as it will make you sound unprofessional! Instead, take the opportunity to explain areas in which you’d like to be more challenged, projects you haven’t had the opportunity to work on, or simply elaborate on why this move is right for you at this time. Focus on the positive aspects of what else you have to offer professionally and how it fits within the role you’re applying for.
Tell me about a time when you messed up at work. How did you fix your mistake?
Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone has the ability to quickly solve them on their own.
This question is not a trap. It’s the employer’s way of learning if you are able to fix your mistakes. Honestly talk about a mistake you made, but focus mainly on how you solved the problem.
Begin by saying: ‘A time I messed up at work was when I gave a customer a quote that was considerably lower than it should have been. I realised my mistake and immediately told my boss about the situation. I knew the business was going to take a hit financially, so I offered to work longer hours until I had worked off the debt from my mistake.’
This answers the interviewer’s question but focuses more on the positive parts of the mistake.

What is your five-year plan?
When interviewers ask this question, they want to know if you will last at the company.
Picture where your career is going. Maybe the job you’re applying for is only a stepping stone to a bigger and better career. Letting your potential employer know their business is nothing more than a pit stop on your career road trip could cost you the job.
Instead of letting an employer know you don’t plan to stay with the company long-term, think about what you hope to get out of the position. Talk generally about how you hope the position will prepare you for your next career move. Mention your desire for career growth within the company.
What is one of your flaws?
This question is very often treated as a joke or a way to turn a negative into a positive (I’m too perfect. I’m an overachiever. I never give up), said Annie Griffin, Chief Happiness Officer at Manifest London.
‘I’ll tell you what I like, I like to hire human beings not machines. I like to hire someone who is upfront, honest and comfortable in their own skin. Everyone has flaws, I wasn’t born yesterday.
‘Show me that you are a person who has awareness and honesty. Maybe you hate getting out of bed. Maybe you speak too quietly. You let papers pile up on the printer.
‘When people recognise a flaw it shows a hunger for improvement and that is always desirable.’
Describe how an apple tastes to someone who can’t taste.
There isn’t a right or wrong answer to this question. This question reveals your ability to think critically. Take a moment to think about how you will respond.
One way to answer the question is: ‘I would describe the taste of an apple as refreshing because of how juicy they are. While a person may not be able to taste, they can probably feel the juice as they bite into the apple. When I think about apples, I imagine the fresh, juicy sensation that comes with taking my first bite.’
Even if your answer isn’t the same as the rest of candidates interviewing, it shows your ability to think on your toes. Your interviewer will appreciate whatever answer you give as long as you provide a reason for why you chose the description you used.

Pope Francis to appear in a Hollywood movie 'Beyond the sun' ,the Vatican confirms

Pope Francis is set to feature in a movie 'Beyond the Sun' which will make him officially the first Roman Catholic pope to play himself in a big screen production. The movie will be a family adventure story where children from different cultures emulate the apostles while searching for Christ in the world around them, according to AMBI Pictures, the makers of the film.

The idea for the film came from the Holy Father, who approached the filmmakers at AMBI Pictures, asking them to produce a movie that could effectively portray Gospel passages & parables to children

All proceeds from “Beyond the Sun” will go to El Almendro and Los Hogares de Cristo, charities in Argentina that provide support for at-risk children and young adults in need. AMBI pictures co-founder Andrea Iervolino said in a statement that working with the Holy Father will be a highlight of his career. “Our excitement and gratitude toward His Holiness, Pope Francis participating in this film is beyond words.

"This is not just a movie for us, it’s a message, and who better to have on your side to deliver an important societal and spiritual message than the Pope.”

According to the Vatican, the pope won't act in the movie, but video clips of the pope will be shown in the movie. Monsignor Dario Edoardo Viganň of the Vatican stated "video clips of the Pope could appear in the film." ''The Pope is not an actor''

Don’t Sell Cameroonian Nationality To Foreigners, Governor Warns Registrars

Southwest Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai, has warned civil status registrars not to sell Cameroonian nationality to foreigners. “Avoid selling and auctioning our nationality to foreigners,” said the Governor to the civil status registrars assembled.

The Governor sounded this warning during the launching of the civil status rehabilitation programme in Buea on ….to train civil status registrars and others in the region specialised in civil status procedures from January 27 to February 9, 2016.
Okalia instructed Divisional representatives, especially civil status registrars to fully play by the rules assigned to them to make the best of what they are being taught. He enjoined the stakeholders responsible for the rehabilitation programme to put an end to irregularities and give way to honest, secure and reliable modern civil status registration to guarantee a better and secured Cameroon society.
The Project Manager of the French consultancy firm CIVI.POL/CONSEIL undertaking the training, Karine Sahli-Majira, said that the civil status registrars would be trained alongside lawyers, court registrars and others specialised in civil status procedures.
“The civil status registrars must move along with modernisation,” said Karine Sahli-Majira. She further stated that the next step would be to digitise certificates. The CIVI.POL/CONSEIL Project Manager disclosed that the French administration has supported Cameroon with funds to complete the civil status rehabilitation plan.
The civil status rehabilitation programme, among other aspirations, would help fight against the production and acquisition of fake certificates and documents. Most importantly, it is aimed at curbing the auctioning of Cameroonian nationality to foreigners who may constitute a threat in internal and external security.
The civil status rehabilitation programme, started in 2010, is aimed at modernising the civil status registers through computerising and archiving data to suit the needs of time.
It will also serve other needs like that of the security forces, electoral planning, programming investment projects, implementing infrastructural development and other vital information needed by the State.
While appreciating the representative of the French Ambassador, Governor Okalia thanked the French Government for the financial assistance to accomplish the rehabilitation of the civil status programme.

Gov’t Spends 12 Billion To Refurbish 2 Buea Hotels In 2 Years

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "Buea Mountain Hotel"

In less than two years, the government of Cameroon will spend a total of FCFA 12 billion to “refurbish” Mountain Hotel and Parliamentarian Flats, both in Buea, Southwest Region.

The two hotels were rehabilitated at the cost of FCFA 4 billion as part of innovations to mark the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Cameroon commemorated on February 20, 2014. Now in preparation to host the 2016 Female African Cup of Nations, AFCON, the government has again pumped in FCFA 8 billion to rehabilitate the two hotels.
According to Business in Cameroon.com, government awarded the contracts to rehabilitate the two hotels to Gresceram International and the Somaf group.
Gresceram International won two contracts worth FCFA 5.6 billion for the rehabilitation of Buea Mountain Hotel. The company will work with two local companies and is expected to complete the work in seven months.
The contract of FCFA 2.5 billion was given to Somaf group for the rehabilitation and extension of Parliamentarian Flats. Work will be completed in 8 months. General opinion holds that by using FCFA 8 billion to refurbish hotels which were revamped barely two years ago, government is wasting funds that could have been used to construct more classic hotels and provide other basic social amenities to the population.
It would be recalled that before the idea of rehabilitating the two hotels for the 50th anniversary celebration of reunification, government had earmarked the construction of a new hotel in Buea for the event.
The new hotel project became so contentious that it was dropped after trees were felled, some terracing on the site done and stores for building materials erected. The new hotel was to be financed from the 2012 Public Investment Budget as per the projects logbook for the Southwest Region.
It was during the visit of the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Belo Bouba Maigari, that the then Southwest Regional Delegate of Tourism and Leisure, Peter Pel Elangwe, pointed out that the Anglophone community and those of Buea in particular, would not forgive the government if the reunification celebration took place in Buea without the rehabilitation of Mountain Hotel, a historic site.
The Delegate said the refurbishment of the hotel was imperative, given its historic importance to reunification. According to Elangwe, it was in the hotel on September 30, 1961, that President Ahmadou Ahidjo, heralded the independence of West Cameroon and pronounced reunification.
Apparently pricked by Elangwe’s utterances, the then Secretary General in the Ministry of Tourism and the Assistant Director of Cabinet at the Presidency, Anderson Le, met Elangwe after the visit and asked for documented evidence to that effect.
When the Minister and his delegation returned to Yaounde, they decided to renovate the abandoned Mountain Hotel and discarded the idea of constructing a new hotel for the celebration of reunification. Meanwhile, with the coming of the 2016 female AFCONS, and Limbe being one of the host cities of the tournament, many people in the Southwest Region were hoping that a new hotel would be constructed this year. Instead, government has decided to sink FCFA 8 billion to “refurbish” new hotels.
“For over three decades of his stewardship, Paul Biya and his government have never initiated a project and completely executed it. He keeps renovating the old structures left behind by Ahidjo,” said Lazarus Kinge Moli, an inhabitant of Buea.

Armed 92-year-old homeowner scares off burglar

A burglar in San Jacinto apparently picked the wrong house to break into Sunday Morning. He was confronted by a 92-year-old homeowner armed with a gun. According to San Jacinto police, the intruder tried to gain forced entry by smashing a door with an ax at a house in the 1400 block of Chase Street at about 11 a.m.

Joe Milspa said he heard the noise and approached the door with his handgun. That was when “he suddenly saw an exterior glass window of the home shatter, followed by the suspect attempting to crawl into his home through the window,” said Sgt. Craig McDonald of the San Jacinto Police Department.
Milspa, who is a World War II veteran and lives alone, immediately fired one round at the intruder. “I could have shot him right in the head between the eyes. But I didn’t want to do that. I would have been in trouble,” Milspa said.
The burglar was not hit. But he did take off running, leaving behind his ax and several other items, police said.
Milspa, who worked as a mechanic for the Los Angeles Police Department for 21 years, said he has had the gun for decades and still goes to the shooting range.

The burglar was described as 20 to 30 years old with a dark complexion.

8 Things Guys Do That Make Ladies To Lose Respect For Them

There are certain things guys do that put ladies in the position to insult and disregard them even to the point that it becomes very difficult for such guys to earn respect from them despite the fact that he may have changed from his shameful acts.

Some of the things guys do that make ladies loose respect for them are;
1. Gossiping
Normally this is one of the idle hobbies ladies indulge in to relief their emotions but I count it as a total shame to see grown up men gossiping on meagre issues. I mean how will constant discussion on the kitty cat of ladies provide money or contribute to the economy of the nation?
2. Wearing dirty clothes
Some guys don’t even care about their outfit, wearing a particular underwear, socks and shirt for several days without washing it. Ladies will definitely find an excuse to push such guys on visitation away whose socks stink like dead rat. I am sure that some of our nairaland ladies must have experienced this situation.
3. Touching a lady’s butt/bosom at rowdy places
I detest guys who stylishly romance ladies in public most especially at rowdy places in order to satisfy their sexual urge. This situation happens more frequent at places such as congested buses, bus terminus, etc where some guys seize the opportunity to touch the untouchable. I am also a bit guilty of this act when me and a busty lady boarded an okada few weeks ago. During the juicy journey, I enjoyed the view of her dancing mangoes when the bike man was busy manoeuvring the galloped roads.
4. Urinating openly
Guys involve in this act are not different from a chronic lunatic because I don’t understand why a normal guy will openly urinate in public. Such guys should forget about ladies having respect for them and I think they need urgent psychiatric evaluation.
5. Drinking irresponsibly
The tolerance level of some guys consuming alcohol is very low but they always want to prove “I am the don” when friends push them into drinking competition. After getting drunk, they start misbehaving and eventually sleep on bare roads/dirty canals which annoys ladies a lot.
6. Cheating
Though the act of cheating hibernates in men’s blood but some guys have become heavy weight champion in chasing ladies shamelessly meanwhile they have a standby girlfriend. The question I keep asking is what does the other lady possess that is not in their girlfriend’s body?
7. Rape
I honestly support the recent invention of condom with teeth by a scientist to serve as defence mechanism for ladies and punishment for perverts. Rapists are not even respected in the society and no wonder their jail term is grievous.
8. Nagging
There are situations when a guy will be tempted to nag but if it becomes unnecessary and excessive, ladies at such scene will start loosing respect for him. Ladies hold high esteem for guys who knows when to talk and when to keep cool.
