An EgyptAir flight headed to Cairo from Paris late Wedesday which was reported as missing from radar has been confirmed to have crashed into the Mediterranean Sea halfway between Egypt and Greece, the airline reported on Twitter. Aboard were 56 passengers -- including one child and two babies -- from more than a dozen nations and 10 crew members, it said.
The airline confirmed that the pilot made a distress call at 2:24am local time before the plane vanished. A signal from a beacon was spotted and is currently been sought.
