
O'Neill was arrested early Friday morning in Butte, Montana after police found in asleep and drunk in his car in the parking lot of a convenience store around 2:30 AM.
Police said their attention was drawn to a parked vehicle whose engine was running and its lights on.
Officers woke up O'Neill and gave him field sobriety tests which he failed. He also refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
According to reports by the Billings Gazette, O'Neill told cops he might have taken Ambien. He was taken to the station and booked for misdemeanor DUI.
O'Neill who is retired from the SEALs was credited for the killer shot that ended bin Laden.
