Share the post "BREAKING NEWS: 21 Perish in Nkongsamba Road Accident"
At least 21 persons were counted dead Sunday, March 27, at about 3:30am, after a horrifying road accident along Douala-Nkongsamba highway, precisely at NJOUNGO area.
A truck transporting cereals lost control and slammed into a 30 seater public transport bus coming from Dschang. The shock and weight of the truck pushed the Menoua Voyage bus far into the bush where some of the victims died.
The Cameroon Journal reporter who was travelling the same road at the time of the accident says 9 people died on the spot, while 12 others died later, bringing the total to 21.
Other witnesses said the truck driver lost control and despite efforts made to divert it into the bush, time caught him short before he could divert it.

The driver of the truck and his assistant came out alive. The incident paralyzed traffic circulation on the highway for about an hour. Survivors and corpses were all transferred to Mont Kupe mortuary and hospital.
The rescue team early that morning comprised of other truck drivers, and passengers of other vehicles. Fire fighters didn’t arrive the scene until 40 minutes later.
