Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho were close to being reunited in Turkey, but the Brazilian's transfer didn't work out. Here's what the African had to say about the failed reunion.
Ronaldinho was linked with a move to Antalyaspor after Eto'o had signed for the club at the beginning of the season, with president Gultekin Gencer saying they had reached an agreement with the Selecao legend.
However, in the end, Ronaldinho joined Fluminense instead. He is now a free agent after leaving the Brazilian giants in September.
Eto'o was recently asked if he was disappointed the duo was not able to reignite the old flame from their days at the Camp Nou.
"Why would I be disappointed? I can succeed by myself," he told FourFourTwo.
"I have never relied on other people, so nothing can disappoint me. Our primary aim this season has been to avoid relegation.
"If the club can do that, the plan is to start thinking bigger."
While Ronaldinho has been struggling to find a new club, Eto'o has been in superb form since moving to Turkey, scoring 14 goals in 21 Super Lig games.
Antalyaspor currently sit in 10th position on the log, 10 points above the relegation spots.
