Homeless couple put in hotel room over Christmas causes £1,000 worth of damage

Lewis Holley and his girlfriend in the middle
A generous mum who raised hundreds for a homeless couple to spend Christmas in a hotel has been left with a £1,000 cleaning bill after they trashed the room.
Louise Elliott, 32, raised £640 for a well-known local homeless man Lewis Holley and his girlfriend Stacey to stay in an Ibis Hotel to celebrate Christmas Eve and their second anniversary.

But after they left she discovered they had smashed the window, torn the duvet, tried to rip the TV off the wall and made the carpets so dirty they had to be replaced.
Since then she has heard nothing from the couple who have been refusing to answer her calls.
Louise, from Reigate, Surrey, said:
"To say I am gutted is an understatement. "I am disgusted and absolutely heartbroken.
"The hotel room was found to be in a total mess. "The window was badly damaged and has to be replaced, someone has tried to rip the TV off the wall and a new carpet has to be put down. "The mattress was left in a state and the whole room was so dirty and horrible.
"The hotel told me it took two members of staff two hours to clear all the rubbish out of the room. My heart sank when I found out."
Louise later discovered that after the first night, the homeless couple asked staff if they could check out and keep the money instead - but the request was denied.
Louise said:
"We feel like fools. "It was the time of year for goodwill and generosity. "So many kind people went out their way to try and do something nice at Christmas but it has turned into a nightmare. "I am so sorry for the people who gave money."
Before Christmas, the mother had shared photographs of the room and of the gifts she had given the couple.
These included some cash for them to enjoy, as well as wrapped Christmas presents, a letter to each of them and even toys for their pet dog Bonnie.
Louise said:
"We also bought them a food hamper, one person donated £50 in shopping vouchers, others gave Christmas and anniversary presents and there was £50 in cash for them as well."
She said:
"I've tried to call and text but now it's going straight to voice mail."I think they've blocked me."I wanted them to be out of the cold and not just have the cash."I am gutted it has ended this way."
Sam White, general manager at the hotel, said he expects the damage to come to about £1,000 in total.
"I found out about the damage to the room on January 2 when a member of staff called me. "I've never seen a room that bad in my many years of hotel management.
"We have specialist glass in our windows due to being near the airport and one side of the pane has been badly smashed.
"The TV has had to be replaced because the screen was cracked from where someone tried to rip it off the wall. "The duvet and bed topper went missing as well. "We are part of the Gatwick Hotel Association and I've made our other members aware of this."

Mother who sold her 3 yr old and four-month-old daughters for sex, child porn jailed for 24 years

A mother who sold her four-month-old daughter for sex eight times has been jailed for 24 years.
Natisha Hillard, 27, sold her baby girl to Christopher Bour, 41, who molested the infant and used her to make child pornography.
Bour, who paid Hillard $500, was jailed for life, plus 55 years in 2014 after admitting to the horrific abuse.
Hillard, from Gary, Indiana, admitted selling her infant daughter to be used in child porn and was in the room during one of the grim encounters.

Photographs and videos seized by the FBI showed Hillard with her daughter, as well as images of Hillard's other daughter, who was three years old at the time of the abuse.
Police began investigating Bour after being alerted by an unnamed masseuse who said Bour had texted her about his intentions to sexually abuse the four-month-old child.
One of Bour's messages read: 'U wanna watch me play with a baby tomorrow a real one.'
Another said: 'I get a chance once in a while I was just seeing if you would hold the camera.'

The woman told FBI agents she had seen child porn movies on Bour's laptop during previous visits to houses he lived in while renovating them. She also said he had expressed interest in 'animal love'.

An FBI agent assumed the identity of the masseuse and texted Bour about what he planned to do with the infant.
Bour responded with graphic descriptions, said he had done it before and that the mother approved.
FBI agents raided Bour's home in Hammond, Indiana, and seized his computer.
They found videos and photographs of people engaging in sex acts with pre-pubescent children, including images of Bour and young children. Hillard could also be seen in some of the photographs.
Court records showed the mother met Bour through an internet dating service.

Bour admitted buying a child for sex, possessing child pornography three counts of producing child pornography, CBS Chicago reported in 2014.

His defense team asked for him to be given the minimum sentence - 30 years - but he was jailed for life plus another 55 years, to run consecutively.

District court Judge Rudy Lozano said Bour's crimes were 'horrific' and the evidence was 'disgusting'.
During his sentencing, attorney Jill Koster said: 'There are some crimes so horrible that the defendant doesn’t deserve a second chance.'

Hillard was sentenced to 24 years for child pornography and endangerment.

World's oldest man aged 131 discovered living with wife 69 years younger than him

Civil servants in Brazil say they have discovered the world’s oldest man - a 131-year-old dad-of-three living with a wife 69 years his junior.
The Guinness Book of Records recognises 112-year-old Yasutaro Koide from Japan as the oldest person alive.
And Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, who died aged 122 in 1997, holds the record for the world’s longest living person.
Social security workers in Acre in the north of Brazil today caused furore by publishing photos of OAP Joao Coelho de Souza alongside a birth certificate dated March 10 1884.
The document showed he was born in the city of Meruoca in Ceara nearly 2,000 miles to the east of Acre.

A colleague of a civil servant who made a routine visit to confirm he was still alive and therefore eligible for his pension posted the information on his Facebook .
He called on the state government to confirm the find and register Joao for the Guinness Book of Records.
Brazilian papers today said he lived with a wife aged 62 and a granddaughter aged 16 in a village called Estirao do Alcantara, a 30-minute boat ride away from Sena Madureira, a municipality in the centre of the state of Acre.
His daughter Cirlene Souza, aged only 30 which would mean if his age was right that Joao was 101 when she was born, told one paper: “He has days when he is lucid but others when he doesn’t even recognise his children.
“He was very small when he came to work in Acre extracting rubber. “He has been with my mum for more than 40 years and depends on others for everything.”

Responding to doubts about her dad's age, she added:
“You hear everything, people that criticise and say it’s a lie and others that admire the fact someone can live so long.
“It’s sometimes offends me because everything is documented and the documents have already been examined by experts at to see if they’d been falsified and nothing abnormal was found.”
Cirlene said Joao suffered a stroke six years ago but continued to eat three times a day.
His favourite dishes are rice, fish and meat and the only thing he turns his nose up at is a local bean-based dish called feijao.
Kennedy Afonso is the social security worker who posted photos of Joao and his birth certificate taken by a colleague on his Facebook on January 11.
He said:
“I’ve asked one of his children if anyone’s interviewed him and to my astonishment no-one has yet. “The question ‘where are our historians’ immediately springs to mind. “According to a son he is still quite lucid and has a great story to tell.
“I present to you Jose Coelho de Souza, who came to Acre when he was 11.
“I appeal to the state government and the local government in Sena Madureira to determine with the competent bodies whether this is true so they can claim a place in the Guinness Book of Records for the oldest man on the Earth. And he’s from our region.”

Turkey police HQ hit by deadly bomb blast

A woman and a baby are reported to be among the dead. Rescuers are searching through the rubble at the scene in Cinar district, Diyarbakir province.
The bomb was detonated at the entrance of the police complex, officials say. The blast also damaged nearby residential buildings.
The attackers then reportedly fired rockets at the headquarters.
Diyarbakir province has seen violent clashes between PKK separatists and the Turkish army in recent months.
Last year, the city of Diyarbakir and a number of other areas in the south-east were put under curfew as part of a security crackdown.

This followed a bomb blast that left 16 soldiers dead and a rebel ambush that killed 14 police officers - both incidents in the east.
A ceasefire between the army and the PKK collapsed in July, and Turkish jets have since bombed PKK bases in northern Iraq and the army launched a ground operation there.
Turkey is also part of a US-led coalition that has been carrying out air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria.
However, Ankara has been accused of hitting mostly PKK targets, angering Kurds who are themselves fighting IS in the two countries.

Officials blamed the blast on Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) militants, who are active in the mainly Kurdish province.
No group has so far said it carried out the attack.

Meet the penis fashion photographer that rakes $10k per photo

Soraya Doolbaz doesn't have an ordinary job. It's probably the furthest thing from ordinary as could be. She calls herself a "professional dick photographer" and her job is to give the male anatomy some quirky character. Based in New York, she'll style your schlong in a glossy editorial-style shoot, even dressing penises up in cute little costumes that give them loads (sorry) of personality.

You can find her work on her official site, appropriately called the Dicture Gallery, and she also had the opportunity to show her art to a larger audience at Art Basel last year where she managed to sell limited edition prints for $10,000 per piece. The comedy of the practice comes from the penis-pun-names that accompany each shots: from Dicki Minaj to Cumrad Stalin.

Doolbaz was says she was blown away with how expansive the market for her service was. "It's surprising and very delightful that people just like dick on things," she notes in the New York Post video interviewbelow. Her work has now been turned into a product line, so you can have dicks on your calendars, mugs, basically everywhere they shouldn't be. But who can say no to Dicki Minaj?

FIFA General Secretary, Jerome Valcke, fired

FIFA's emergency committee decided to dismiss Jerome Valcke from the organisation after some ethics charges were brought against him over world cup ticket sales. FIFA sent out a press release which stated:
The FIFA emergency committee decided to dismiss Jerome Valcke from the position of FIFA secretary general with immediate effect. Jerome Valcke is therefore no longer the secretary general of FIFA.
''The employment relationship between FIFA and Jerome Valcke has also been terminated.
The duties of the secretary general will continue to be assumed by the acting secretary general, Dr Markus Kattner."
Valcke is facing a nine-year ban from FIFA after an ethics investigation into several alleged offences including being connected to black market sales of World Cup tickets.
FIFA's investigatory chamber finished its probe last week and has recommended a nine-year ban and a fine of 100,000 Swiss francs (£69,000) on charges including conflicts of interest and offering and accepting gifts and other benefits.
Valcke was suspended after allegations were made claiming he planned to benefit from black market World Cup ticket sales.
He has denied any wrongdoing, saying his conduct had always been "exemplary.
It is the second time Valcke has been sacked by FIFA - he was dismissed in December 2006 as marketing director after an American judge said he had lied repeatedly during FIFA's botched sponsorship negotiations with rival card giants MasterCard and Visa. Less than eight months later, however, he was back in FIFA as second in command to president Sepp Blatter, who himself has been banned for eight years by the ethics committee"
