American couple held in Spain after son's decomposed body found in bed

Spanish police have arrested a US couple after their son’s badly decomposed body was found inside the family flat in the north-eastern city of Girona.

The dead boy is believed to have been seven years old and police sources said that the body, found in a bed under several blankets, could have been left to decompose for several weeks. There were no obvious signs of physical violence, the same sources said.

Officers from Catalonia's Mossos d’Esquadra police force attended the family’s home on Tuesday after being called by the couple’s landlord. He told the police that he had visited the family to settle unpaid bills but became suspicious when he was not allowed in and heard screams the other side of the door.

When police agents gained access to the flat at midday on Tuesday they were met by a strong smell of decomposing flesh. The body was not taken away until some six hours later after officers had searched the home for clues which could explain the cause of death. The results of an autopsy were being awaited on Wednesday, while the police questioned and eventually arrested the couple on suspicion of manslaughter.

 

The couple have been identified only as American citizens of 38 and 39 years of age. They have two older children, a boy and a girl, who were also in the flat when the police arrived. They are now in the care of local authorities and are being given psychological support.

 

Neighbours described the couple as unusual in that they were Americans who did not speak much Spanish or Catalan. One resident of the same building told the newspaper El Periódico that in recent weeks he had only seen the father, said to be an engineer who worked over the border in France, leave the house.

“The only really strange thing I saw with them was that the children did not go to school in Girona, but seemed to do classes online”, said one neighbour.

Even if the autopsy shows that the child died of natural causes, the parents could still be charged with manslaughter if they are considered to have been reckless in not seeking out medical treatment.

Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore issued an order Wednesday informing the state’s probate judges of their “ministerial duty not to issue any marriage license contrary” to Alabama’s constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
Despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 decision overturning such state bans, Moore maintains Alabama’s law is still valid, and that as chief justice he is empowered to “take affirmative and appropriate action to correct or alleviate any condition or situation adversely affecting the administration of justice within the state.”

Janet Jackson says she's recovering, denies cancer

Janet Jackson said she doesn't have cancer, but she isn't specifying the illness that interfered with a concert tour that she postponed.

On her Twitter account Wednesday, Jackson posted a two-minute clip from her song "The Great Forever," followed by a personal message in which she said she's recovering but offered no further details. She said her doctors have approved her concerts as scheduled in Europe.

She wrote:

"The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering," she posted, an apparent response to online reports that she was suffering from throat cancer.

Her announcement came less than two weeks after Jackson said she was postponing her "Unbreakable" tour to have an unspecified surgical procedure. Jackson had been next scheduled to perform Saturday in Denver. She's scheduled to perform in Europe in March.

Lira Galore confirms split with Rick Ross, says photo with Meek Mill may have caused it

In an interview with Global Grind, 22 year old Lira Galore who was engaged to rapper, Rick Ross, confirmed that she's no longer with him. She said they decided to go their separate ways.
She said:
According to Lira, Rozay was the first famous person she'd ever been involved with, and it was also the first time she'd been in love.
She said:

"This was my first time in a public relationship, so I was happy about putting it out there," she said while speaking to Global Grind. "But people on social media don't like to see that type of stuff, so they dug up old stuff that didn't matter."

Later in the interview, Lira confirmed she and Ross actually did split a while back but eventually reunited. The reason for the initial break up? It had to do with a photo people kept posting of Galore and Meek Mill.

"I'm not worried about the picture with Meek," stated Lira.

"It was just a picture that I posted on my Instagram. I was at work. I used to dance, and it was just a picture. I think the initial breakup was a combination of everything from people digging up tweets when I was 17 years old tweeting about different people, to the picture of Meek."

"Everybody just kept posting it and I felt like as a man, he just couldn't handle it when it was just nothing. I feel like during that time apart he realized he was tripping, so we got back together," she added.

Galore also mentioned that she still carries deep feelings for the MMG chief. She added:

"We just decided to go our separate ways," explained the popular model. "I'm 22 and this was my first time in love, and I put it out there. I'm still in love with him, but some things don't go as you would like them to go."

ISIS shows off A driverless carbomb

Driverless cars are supposed to be a sign of a tranquil future, where pleasant machines cart relaxed guests around, handling all the messiness of automobile travel. They’ve also long been the interest of the military, which through DARPA in 2003 challenged inventors to make a machine that, by itself, could navigate a 300-mile stretch between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.The goal was a technological solution to a messy problem from the insurgencies fought in Iraq and Afghanistan: convoys carrying supplies were frequently attacked, with lives often lost in the process. If resupply could be driverless, it would save lives.

Now, it appears, ISIS has created a driverless car with the exact opposite objective: remotely controlled, a driverless car bomb could be just as deadly as a suicidal one, and without the high cost of a fighter in the driver seat, too.
As reported by Sky News, ISIS has posted an instructional video on how to turn a car into a remote-controlled weapon. It includes remote steering, a machine to hit the pedals, and a foil-wrapped laser-eyed mannequin in the front seat to fool infrared cameras.

Iraq observer Joel Wing wrote that in the week of December 22nd to the 28th, Iraq saw 13 car bombs, the fewest since June. Previous campaigns have used about 50 car bombs a week.

11 year old boy sends letter to Sir Alex Ferguson criticizing his methods and he actually replied

It seems the legendary former Manchester United manager is more receptive to criticism than we all thought, after an 11 year old boy who sent a letter to him in 2005 got a reply from him thanking him for supporting the club.

The boy now 21 released pictures of the letter online this week. Back in 2005, 11 year-old Paul Golah was given a task at school where he had to write a letter to a famous person. Paul chose Sir Alex Ferguson but as you can see here, this was not going to be any ordinary, fawning attempt to get an autograph. Paul decided to tell Sir Alex his mind straightaway. So Sad!! Woman Shares intimate details of how she was attacked and raped in her home(Photos)

A 27-year-old rape victim has shared intimate details of her alleged s exual assault on social media just moments after the attack.

Amber Amour, 27, was in Cape Town, South Africa, promoting her “Stop Rape. Educate” campaign in November last year, when she was raped by a man. At least she said so and even shared the ordeal with thousands of her Instagram followers.

According to Amour, she was attacked by a man named Shakir in a shower at a local hostel. In a series of disturbing posts, the woman not only described the assault but also attached pictures, one on the way to the hospital and one of her on a hospital bed with a so-called ‘rape kit’ .

Commenting on her  actions Amber said: “I immediately knew that I couldn’t keep what had happened a secret. Here I was, telling survivors every single day that they should speak up… I knew I had to practise what I preached. So the first thing I did was take a picture and write a post, describing what had happened.”

“Opening up about rape or sexual assault isn’t as scary as you think. That’s the thing – there are so many more survivors out there than you would imagine, and chances are, the person you’re telling may have a similar story or might know someone else who has one,” she added.

Six weeks later, Amber still remains in South Africa where the police investigation is still ongoing. She says the man who raped her was arrested but has been released on bail and the case will continue on March 29.
