Premier League Is My Next Destination- Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiol

Bayern Munich manager, Pep Guardiola, has revealed that Premier league is his next destination, after disclosing his intention at the club’s Christmas party.
The 44-year-old former Barcelona player and coach said that he kept the information from the world to allow the Bavarians get his successor.
And he has now claims that he chose Bayern’s Christmas party as the time to inform the club’s chiefs of his plans for 2016, but admits his desire to join an English side was made clear at the start of the campaign.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Manchester United and some other top European clubs.
“From the beginning of the season I said to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that it might be best for everyone if we are the last year together,” said Guardiola.
“We agreed that we talk about that later. But I wanted the club to have enough time to look for a new coach. That’s why we spoke in September and October. Then the decision was made at the Christmas party.
“I want to experience the atmosphere, the stadiums, the emotions. Why to England? It’s my feeling at the moment. I have the opportunity to go to England and I feel that this is the perfect moment right now.” Goal

Manny Pacquiao Says Timothy Bradley Will Be His Last Fight

Filipino world champion professional boxer, Manny Pacquiao, has confirmed that Timothy Bradley will be his last professional opponent in the boxing ring in the spring as he wants to focus on his political career.

Pacquiao will take on Bradley for a third time on April 9 after losing to his biggest rival Floyd Mayweather in boxing’s richest fight in history last May.
The Filipino lost to Bradley in 2012 in a controversial split decision, but cruised to a one-sided points victory in their
 Manny Pacquiao3
Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum said last week he did not believe his fighter would retire after fighting Bradley, but the 37-year-old set the record straight on Monday night.
“I am retiring from boxing to concentrate on my political career,” said Pacquiao. “My fight with Timothy Bradley will be my last.”
The southpaw also dismissed reports he would be delaying retirement plans in the hope of tempting undefeated Mayweather out of retirement for a rematch.
“I did not say anything like that. Nobody interviewed me about that. I will retire after my April 9 fight,” he insisted.
Pacquiao lost by unanimous decision to his arch-rival Mayweather and underwent shoulder surgery four days later on a torn rotator cuff sustained during training prior to the Las Vegas superfight.
He has won 57 fights, including 38 knockouts, lost six and had two draws in a professional career spanning more than 20 years after being raised in poverty, and currently represents the southern province of Sarangani in parliament. Skysport

David Villa Reveals Why He Left Barcelona

david-villa-new-york-city-mls-700x523

New York City FC striker, David Villa left Barcelona in 2013 after winning a Champions League medal and two La Liga titles before joining Atletico Madrid.
He has now revealed that he left the Catalan giants due to lack of playing time. Speaking to Sport, he said:
“I just decided to leave because I had lost my starting spot.
“I have always tried to be realistic about where I am, where I can go, I lost my place and I was not playing as much for technical reasons.
“The easy path would have been staying at Barcelona, to keep winning titles, prestige and reputation, but I wanted to be on the pitch. I looked for a way out.
“But then the media turned it into something else, when it was that simple: I did not want to be on the bench more than the pitch,” the 34-year-old explained.

FLASHBACK: IMF Warns African Countries Against Excessive Borrowing

Christine_Lagarde_World_Economic_Forum_2013-700x357

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned African countries against rushing to issue eurobonds, saying they may face exchange rate risks and problems repaying debts.
African governments facing falling levels of foreign aid are on a borrowing spree to pay for new roads, power stations and other infrastructure, prompting concern from many analysts that this could raise debt levels and undermine growth.
“It comes with some risks,” the director of the IMF’s African Department, Antoinette Sayeh, said on Monday. “Whereas what it costs the countries to issue these bonds can often look lower than what they would pay on domestic borrowing … the real cost in the final analysis will also depend on the evolution of exchange rates in the course of the life of the bond issuance.”
In 2007, Ghana became the first African beneficiary of debt relief to tap international capital markets, issuing a $750m 10-year eurobond. Since then, previously debt-burdened countries such as Senegal, Nigeria, Zambia and Rwanda have all joined in.
“In the last two years we’ve seen new issuers — Kenya issuing the largest amount of sovereign bond this year and Côte d’Ivoire, as well also having issued this year and then Rwanda last year,” said Ms Sayeh.
“In 2014 alone we’ve seen some $7bn already in sovereign bond issues, which is a record high for the region,” she added.
Tanzania is in the process of securing credit rating and plans to issue a debut euro bond worth up to $1bn in fiscal year 2014/15. Ethiopia aims to make its first foray into the international bond markets by January, while Rwanda is planning another sovereign bond.
Ms Sayeh said foreign investors were interested in sub-Saharan Africa’s “good economic prospects” and “sound macro-economic policies”.
“The increased possibility of issuing bonds for sub-Saharan African countries comes from the fact of lower returns on the global markets,” she said.
But local investors remained the biggest source of financing for African infrastructure projects, and there was “more room for private investments in infrastructure,” she added.
The IMF said on October 7 it expected sub-Saharan Africa’s economy to grow by 5% this year and accelerate to 5.8% in 2015 on infrastructure investments.
Rwanda is planning to offer longer-dated local debt and may sell its second eurobond as early as next year as its economy is set to grow faster than the regional average.
The dollar debt sale “won’t be this year”, Finance Minister Claver Gatete said in London on Monday. “We believe it can be 2015.” The government is deciding whether to make the maturity on next month’s Rwandan franc issuance seven years, the longest yet, he said.
Rwanda is transforming its debt market with more sales of local securities after the debut $400m international bond last year. The eurobond due May 2023 returned 11% this year, compared with the 9.5% average among 57 emerging markets tracked by Bloomberg indexes.
President Paul Kagame said in August the country may sell as much as $1bn in its second international offer. Mr Gatete said they are still working on details and declined to comment on the amount or what the proceeds would be used for.

U.N. Security Council condemns Iranian attacks on the Saudi Arabian embassy

The United Nations Security Council has condemned Iranian attacks on the SaudiArabian embassy after Saudi Arabia angered the Iranian government by executing a Shiite cleric some days back.
Demonstrators in Iran descended upon the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Mashhad.  and set it on fire after Riyadh executed 47 men including Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.

This resulted in the Saudis cutting diplomatic relations with Iran, suspending all flights to and from Iran. Several countries like the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Sudan have withdrawn diplomatic relations from Iran as a sign of support to Saudi Arabia.

The statement by the 15-member U.N Security council, which called on Iran to protect diplomatic personnel and property, made no mention of the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

The statement read in part:
“The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Tehran, and its Consulate General in Mashhad in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in intrusions into the diplomatic and consular premises, causing serious damage,” said the council statement.U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry reached out to both the Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers to calm tensions.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest echoed those sentiments.
"We are urging all sides to show some restraint and to not further inflame tensions that are on quite vivid display in the region," he said Monday in a briefing with reporters.

Police find woman's dismembered body in suitcases but it gets more bizarre

When a local resident found a floating suitcase by the shore near the town of Gmunden, 50 miles east of Salzburg in Austria, nothing could have prepared the unfortunate fellow its gory contents. The dismembered body of a woman. Promptly, the police was alerted and they swung into action and they found two suitcases containing the woman's dismembered body near the shore of Lake Traunsee but her head was missing.

A woman's severed head encased in a block of concrete, was later found after an extensive search next to a man's body at the bottom of an Austrian lake, in what police suspect is a murder-suicide. Authorities said that evidence suggests the man strangled the woman and dismembered her body before drowning himself using the concrete block with her head in.

The hands of the man, whose body showed no signs of struggle, were tied to bags containing rocks as well as personal belongings.

The head of the woman, who was between 50 and 70 years old, was discovered after forensic experts in the city of Salzburg broke open a concrete block found in one of the bags on the lakebed.

'This makes us primarily think of an 'extended suicide',' a prosecutor for the nearby town of Wels, Birgit Ahamer, told a news conference, adding that initial forensic examinations suggested the woman had been strangled and the man had drowned.

Police said they could not yet identify the bodies.

Weeks after being declared an Islamic republic, Gambia orders female civil servants to cover their hair

It's not yet a month since President Yahya Jammeh declared Gambia an Islamic Republic - ostensibly in a bid to break away from its colonial past - but the implications of that announcement are only coming into play. The president maintained that other faiths retained their freedoms regardless but all female civil servants are now required to cover their hair.

No reasons were given for the introduction of the new rule, which was announced in a memo that was leaked to local opposition newspapers.

The memo, published by Freedom stated 'all female staff' within government departments were no longer allowed to expose their hair during working hours, effective from December 31.

It went on to urge female staff 'to use a head tie and neatly wrap their hair'.

'All heads of departments and agencies are urgently advised to implement this directive and bring it to the attention of their female staff,' the memo concluded.

Although it doesn't appear that the president's announcement changes Gambia's laws or its constitutional status as a secular state, it could yet form the justification for rules such as that now affecting its female employees.

'Gambia cannot afford to continue the colonial legacy,' Jammeh said of his country, which gained independence from Britain in 1965.

Jammeh said the rights of Gambia's Christian community will be respected and there would be no mandates on dress.

'We will be an Islamic state that would respect the rights of all citizens and non-citizens.'
However, the head of the country's Islamic body wouldn't say if he endorsed the declaration.
'We haven't met yet to discuss over the presidential announcement,' said Gambia's Supreme Islamic Council Chairman Imam Momodou Lamin Touray.

Hamat Bah of the opposition National Reconciliation Party criticized the decision.
'There is a constitutional clause that says that Gambia is a secular state. You cannot make such a declaration without going through a referendum.'

Jammeh has ruled Gambia since seizing power in 1994.

Photo: Saudi Arabia Defence Ministry website hacked after Shia cleric's execution

A group of young Saudi hackers took down the Saudi Defense Ministry’s website in protest over the execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, Iran’s Fars news agency reported.

The cyber-attack was carried out on Sunday night by a group of young Saudis called "Brave Youth Fighting Religious Taboos" and remained inaccessible for several hours.

The hackers said their attack on the Saudi Defense Ministry’s website was meant as retribution for the execution of Sheikh Nimr by the Riyadh government.
"We will continue defending the religious sanctities and also targeting the enemies and oppressors involved in the killing of the freedom-seekers and revolutionaries," the hackers said in a statement issued after hacking the website.
